My wife would love it if I trained my olde english bulldog to do that. He's smart enough, but I'm probably not!
Same here. I’m pretty much the limitation for my dogs. I used a “clicker” to teach them that. Now they have evolved to doing it without a command. When I set the bowls up there they just start frantically running around cleaning up toys. Dexter, the male is a little too hyped to learn and do training. He does better after running a mile or two. The female, Dahlia, responds really well to clicker training because she likes to think she figured out how to get a reward out of you instead of just working for pay.

B beeinak - somehow similar here. We love Canes.

Got our first - Wotan - when they were not recognized as a breed by the American Kennel club yet, he was American „foundation stock“. Here he was at 12:

Then we got Frya …

And a year later her half brother Baldr, who is still with us. I drove him up from LA as a 7 week puppy.

They are amazing dogs. I love mastiff breeds!

For those of you that have/had a few cane corsos, how's their aggression and tolerance of other dogs? Let's say it's at an off leash dog park.

I'm aware that socialization is very important. I make sure that my dogs are very very well socialized with humans and dogs from an early age.

My boys have been very dominant when meeting others. Not different to my Rottie though. But, of course, socialization and training are king.

Dominant or aggressive?

Dominant - I worded carefully :)

I used to walk 3, now I only walk two heavy dogs. They have to heel well, know their position, etc., they don't even do their major business until they are back home (not that I stopped them - that just developed like that). The only times that I'm apprehensive is when I walk them on one side of the road, and some woman walks a noisy & aggressive Chihuahua or similar on the other side of the road. Small dogs with female owners are notoriously misbehaved here, because they are so "cute".

It's usually not the Canes that cause the issue, but people might not believe you afterwards.

Mine was awesome with the other male dog (Rot/Lab mix) in the house. Very dominant with other dogs but never aggressive. He never tried to bite/fight. He tolerated other dogs when I was with him but I never took him to dog parks.

A girl I know has an unaltered male who goes to dog parks with no issues. One lives in my neighborhood that gets walked off leash and is a nice dog and I see him with other dogs too.

To me, the issue at a dog park would be if the dog is challenged by another dog- a Cane likely will not back down. I hate dog fights!

I had Tosa Inu’s and only had them off leash at our remote property. Frequently some numb-nut would let a dog come running at mine while walking and say ‘he’s friendly’.

Cane’s are awesome. Very loyal, sweet, protective, athletic, easy grooming, care very much what owner projects.

BTW, Cane rescue centers across country are completely over-run. The breed became popular after movies such as GOT and King Arthur, many people decided to breed privately in their back-yard, lots of people got puppies in the pandemic and now don't want their large dog anymore. :(
