I spent hours today(?) grinding away at the main fullers. I can't even tell time anymore, so whether it's today, yesterday or tomorrow...well it's all the same to me
Grinding? I prefer to picture you with gnarled hands gripping those big files from Bing...
Just kidding, obviously grind away if you can get at it.

big files from Wheeler, little files from Wolfgang
done with the angle grinder, it's hand work now. Hope that makes you happy

Lorien Lorien We have mini belt grinders at work .... wonder if something like that would make your life easier

It’s breakfast time here. That looks like a great cereal bowl. Send it my way to test out!
you could fry an egg on it

this one is definitely better dialed/more meticulously finished than the first one. Should perform about the same, although I've learned more about heat treating since then, so it should be a little tougher and hopefully a little harder

thank you!

feels like a real knife, now. All hard and stuff

the handle scales are curing tonight and I should be able to get them fit up and profiled tomorrow. I got a sneaky plan which is pretty weird, not sure whether I'll do it or not. It'll take a fair amount of extra work and might not have the effect, or any effect, that I'm hoping for

also, I'm playing around with the idea of oxidizing this thing. A2 is not great at stain resistance, but on the other hand I love me a hand rubbed blade. On the other other hand, a nice black layer will help make my fuck ups vanish 🤔

I’ve noticed more makers who forge and don’t like all the extra finish work removing grinding lines/marks turn to parkerizing for that coating so that may be an option for you too (no clue if you’d send a knife out for that treatment or if it’s no issue diy).

I love the look of a hand rubbed blade as well but I will say that blacked out blades look great at times also, especially on something with the lines and profile your khukri has!
