CPM 3V or INFI Folders

Good steel, and there are several really good steels available, and a very good heat treat results a very good blade.
Word of mouth, is the best salesman.

Boker recently putvout an Anso solo foldervin 3v and its supposed to be at 62-63 hrc. That gives you and increase in wear resistance but decreases toughness byt imo thats what you would want in a folder since a lock or pivot will fail before the blade will. I bought one and it was $160 or so, its a nice knife and the 3v has held up really nice so far. You can also get either a spyderco military or manix 2 in cpm cruwear as its pretty close to 3v (I think it has slightly better wear resistance and slightly less toughness than 3v but not by much). Other steels tbat are close to 3v are 4v, vanadis 4 extra, cruwear, zwear, cts pd1.
As far as infi only busse uses it and they only made one folder and that had s30v. Imo infi isn't a great steel for a folder (maybe one with a beefy pivot and a triad lock). It doesn't have the wear resistance that 3v does, its just really tough but you're not (at least you shouldn't) going to chop or baton with a folded which is where infi is great at.

If you want a knife that you can grind thin and/or have low 3dge angles better steels are simple carbon steels, A2, O1, 10xx series and in stainless most of the Sandvik steels, aeb l, Nitrobe 77, 440 a and b and other low carbide steels.

I would recommend the Boker Solo in 3v thought, its the German made brand so the fit and finish is nice and it held up great for me in the last 4 months I had it.

I have 50+ folders now...so I'm specifically looking for 3V or INFI. Doesn't need to be a production knife. Custom will do. I own knives in s35VN, d2, CPM d2, 154cm, CPM 154, s30v, 1095, elmax, cts 204p, s125v, s90v, n690, m390, super blue, VG-10, 440c, cast 440c, 10V, and so on. Just looking for something Different. If the folder is overbuilt it shouldn't be weaker than the steel, edge retention is good for the 3V. So I'm not looking for advice on steels. I'm looking for a folder in 3V or INFI. Thanks again.

Busse are the only knives to have INFI
Busse has never made a folding knife.

S90v or s110v is just as amazing in a folder. Unless you are going to buton it. Then find 3v.

SOmeone did at one time take a small Busse knife and turned it into a folder though.

INFI folder?

Imagine a brick of steel in your pocket....

My vote goes for what Lycosa said in his earlier post about getting a small infi fixed blade. In my experience I've had times where I wished I had a fixed knife more than the other way around. Busse is selling a nice smallish blade called son of badger at the moment so I'd recommend that.
