I have two. Love the knives, but the clip placement was terribly uncomfortable for my hands due to prior injuries and minor nerve damage in a couple of fingers. Took the clips off and now they're just right. I don't have issues with the clip placement on any of my Sebenzas...Regular, 21 or 31. Just the 'Zaans.

They're great knives.

Yes, the clip placement sucks.
It is the worst placed clip on any of my quality knives.
Don't know what they were thinking.

This thread is making me regret the order I placed with CRK about 2 years ago. It's difficult to open, the clip sucks, the action can be gritty, the lock bar is stiff, etc.? Why not buy a Hinderer or a ZT 0393?

I was trying to find a funny meme about diversity but failed. But you get the point, I'm sure :)

I like mine a lot, I've often thought if there was a one and done, it might be my Zaan.

I first ordered a Lg. 31 which took about 2 years to ship directly from CRK.

About a year in I picked this up new, S45VN.
My hands are much more familiar to this and it's broken in nicely, large without being bulky and carries nicely in the pocket (at least for me).

I am on a CRK bender at the moment. And getting my hands on an older model already broken in is pretty impressive. Their like a fine scotch that just gets better with age!
You think that's nice, wait till you get a broken in AB in your mitts. I do wish CRK would make a flipper Zaan, I would be on that like rub on pork butt!

I love my Umnumzaan. This is my second, I bought my first (one of the original big pivots) back just about a year or so after they first came out. They're a hell of a knife. However I've never quite understood why the knife community sees them as CRK's heavy duty knife, it has a pretty nice slicey hollow grind on it. In my mind the Inkosi is CRK's heavy duty folder, then the Zaan and Seb are about equal for seconds. I also don't see why so many people talk about the Zaan's being hard to open. When I first got into knives as a kid, a couple of my friends were already into them and I saw them flicking them out fast with the thumbstuds. I went home and had to quickly learn how to do it so that I didn't look like a noob😂. I learned that if you want to flick it you put your thumb underneath the stud (where the pad of your thumb is against the flat of the blade and the top of your thumb just runs into the thumbstud), build up pressure against it, then flick it forward, parallel with the knife scales. If you want to slow roll it, you also put your thumb underneath the stud (same thing, against the blade flat) and push up, parallel of scales as well. I use that motion for all folders. I think the problem stems with people wanting to put their thumb on top of thumbstuds and push the stud perpendicular to the edge of the knife scales. I don't really know of any knives where that works out too well.
