Has the lock face really been changed in the 25? This is the first time I hear about it. I've been away for a while, but I thought I was pretty up to date on the 25. Isn't it just the pivot, washers and handle- and blade shape that have been changed?
 
It's interfaced like the Umnum with the ceramic ball preened into the to lockbar. It serves as both the detent and the lock's mating surface against the blade tang.

Odd...my impression, if I believed what I read a lot of in this forum, would be that Mr. Reeve is a cranky old bastard who makes knives to very poor quality standards and enjoys insulting people or simply hanging up on them when they try to get their knives taken care of. :(
 
I think its time to put these types of threads to rest until Chris and company decides to do their followup until then how bout we all just cool our jets and be patient.

These end up with ppl that feel they were wronged smearing Chris and us fanboys trying to shield him.

Just give it a rest.

Steel_Addiction... My opinion, is that 3 months of time should have let the jets cool sufficiently. These are some valid questions and concerns that CRK posted--not by the request of "fanboys" OR detractors, but by their own volition (albeit in response to a lengthy and heated thread). In your opinion, what kind of timeframe would you find to be appropriate or acceptable to respond to their own post?

There should be no "time frame"

Crk did not say they would do it in a timely manner. They are more than likely busy with backorders and the current workload.

You should feel lucky they are even taking the time to do these tests. Name me one other company that would or already has taken the time and resources to try and show what these bad users are doing to cause something like this

Nobody should feel obligated to receive these results.

It will happen when they have time.

No matter what your intentions are good or bad these threads turn into a crap storm. That is inevitable.

So just be patient.

Patience is a virtue.

Just sit back and enjoy your Sebenzas. If you take care of your tools they will take care of you and you shouldn't be so worried about these results.

However, the crap storm is inevitable on this topic and even if CRK post a second installment that wont be good enough for some either. Way of the world I suppose.
 
I had an interesting Sebenza experience today. I dropped the micarta 21 in my pocket this morning. I have gone all day and never once worried about 1. lock rock (whatever the heck that is) 2. CRK warranty service 3. lock bar percentage of travel 4. lock bar face degradation 5. whether Chris has respond to the 4/19 thread 6. whether Chris is a curmudgeon with bad telephone manners. I just sort of went about my business knowing if something need cutting I could cut it. Don't worry, be happy.:D

1) they were back ordered when they put out the first installment of this

2) Zt/kershaw, spyderco, coldsteel (even though I don't particularly care for cold steel), and I'm sure there's a hell of a lot more. If you would like examples Id gladly provide them for each company.

3) I do feel like CRK needs to post these results because if they don't then they are not men of there words. For all we know the results shocked even them, and they found that they were wrong for once.

You can't assume your chain is being yanked, you can't assume that they won't post the results.

Why can't you be patient and just wait for the results instead of just making blind accusations?

And you say you have been patient, but obviously you havn't since you insist on getting the results NOW because you feel like you deserve them, and not because they are gracious enough to do these tests for you.

They didn't have to do them, they chose to do them.

As stated they did not tell you results would be posted in one month, two months or a year...

The companies that you listed are not backordered or even simply trying to keep up with demand. I could walk into the knife shop that I go to regularly and grab a half dozen of any of these manufacturers.

CRK will post results, not when you feel it is time but when they have the time.

In my opinion, you are not patient and bad mouth CRK at every slight chance you get and until I see a post where you prove me otherwise it seems that you have a personal vendetta against Chris Reeve...once again in my opinion

And your number five is dead on for me...;)

1) kershaw and spyderco are constantly back ordered ;) hell kershaw had to discontinue some knives just to make it so there complex could keep up on the regular manufacturing process and assure that the knives got out on time. Most of the time they are so busy they have to push back dates. They do this while constantly providing the best customer service in the industry.

2) Im sorry that you think I'm just bad mouthing crk. Ive done my fair share of fan boy B.S'ing (which can be seen all over) until I tried paying for my damascus sebenza I had on order for over a year and Chris was so upset by my threads (about lock face issues) that he would no longer sell me my knife. Again I had waited over a year for the knife only to be told at the end of the wait that Chris was undecided on the sale. I then posted my experiences and since have been hated on these forums.

I tried to be civil with people, and have been berated ever since. Hell others have been berated by the fan boys so much that they closed there threads. On a public forum this isn't correct and in a way its cyber bullying.

The backordering is different, go into any true knife shop that sells all the above mentioned knives, like I stated, I can pick up 95% of the knives any of the manufacturers you have mentioned, you are lucky to run into 1 or 2 CRKs in any local shops.

I asked in a different thread if they had did you wrong and dont beleive that you responded...Maybe I missed it? Sorry for the bad taste in your mouth from your recent experience and thusly you are probably justified in the way you feel. But I praise Chris at the same time because prior to my career I worked the dark side of retail and the customer is not always right. All orders from CRK take forever, everyone knows this when they place the order...and if you bad mouthed my company when you were trying to deal with my company I would kick your order to the curb as well...Why would CRK have to deal with you anymore than they already do when you have the mentality that you do?
