CRK&T tomahawks?

I really can't decide which to buy. The spike is bad ass, but is the hammer pole more useful?

Camping or fighting?
Have you ever chopped wood with a spiked hawk? I've grazed my head with a spike once, just once. Spike hawks can be fun, and even useful when camping, but they can also be more dangerous to the user.
Are you planning on using this hawk for camping at all? If not go with the spike. If you want to take it camping, then I'd say get the hammer poll, for safety's sake.
Oh hell, get both!!
 
Just my opinion, but you'd need 3.
One hammer to go camping.
Two spikes for fun.....I got to have one for each hand. Can't have one gettin jealous :triumphant:

Maybe I just see things different :single_eye:
 
When thinking about the hammer poll, keep in mind it will only be .23 inches thick by however long it is. To me that doesn't seem like much of a poll.
 
As Cashmore mentioned, due to the thin poll it would be more of an impact weapon, or useful for window shattering, IMO.
 
Thank you for the thread! I very interested in one of these and I think I'll go for the spike as it will mainly be for fun and throwing: but I'm based in the UK and if it lands up being $1 to £1 as it seems including shipping/taxes etc for other axes I've brought, then I can get one custom made for that!
 
man they didnt want this to be an easy choice did they! I mean the utilitarian in me likes the hammer poll for its function and extra safety but the spike just looks so cool! Ill have to wait a while for the price to come down or for me to get a better job before i get one because my lady would kill me with it if i got one right now but i cant wait to see what kind of mods people do on these! I could see it with the coating stripped and some sweet wooden scales put on there.

I'm thinking keep it in the police car with my bug out bag. Primarily for breaching and stuff like that. So given that scenario... spike or hammer pole?

Most likely will go for a hammer poll.
 
The whole top of the head on the spike hawk is edged, great for combat, crappy for camp work.
Frankly scares the hell outa me. Its the Hammer poll for me.
