CRKT M16 totally failed!

Given in this model, the thumb stud acts as a stop pin, it's possible (not saying this is necessary the case) your user to abused the knife and hit it hard
when opening it (as when wrist-whipping when opening), causing damage to the pin. It would be his mistake, not knife's flaw
Well, it's totaly not a knife's flaw, just terrible poor enginering of CRKT. The stop pin should be the strongest part of the knife.

And, hell no! I won't waste a buck to repair this knife.

You do whatever suits you better my friend. Technically this knife is flipper and you can also wave it,
so it have nothing to do with poor engineering by CRKT (Mr. Carson), it's a good design,
executed with not so good materials but it's a CRKT after all...

The way I see it you registered account here only to bitch about your poor choice of purchasing this knife.
You should 'of register account here and look for opinion, before you make this purchase.

As a matter of fact, I did this post, after I've read on this forum, that M16 is a very strong knife.
So my intention was to warn my fellow colleagues.

So let’s sum this up,
You started an account with the intention of trashing talking a cheap piece of crap knife manufactured by a company known for making cheap piece of crap knives. Then you talk trash to well respected members of the community when they call you out as the little drama queen you are being?
Yep welcome to the ignore list…

Only arogant, and conceited well respected members, Your Highness.

The knife retails for $85. It has instructions that say normal routine maintenance includes assuring screws are tight. The various Carson M## knives are favorites of many in the military who can't afford luxury goods because they have 3+ kids. By the way, for a short time, they had a deal with CRK to market a budget Sebenza 🙃

Didja get enuff attention...still bored :)

Chill dude.

As a new member, don't expect overly positive reactions when you make assumptions and use words like "flagship" and "for military personel" in the same sentence as "CRKT". Quite oxymoronic.

Had you done your research first, you would know what most of the knowledgeable forum thinks of this brand. No one here would be surprised if something truly broke, let alone came undone on a CRKT product.

you really should call crkt, they might send you a shipping label and fix under warranty or replace it...sounds like you don't want it solved though, cause I recommended that way back in this thread......

your call........

I think, I have to humble down a little. Thank You.

Thank You, for the advice. The point is - I can not "trust" in this knife anymore.

Folks act like it's impossible for a vet to sell cheap gear to other members of the military, like, the guy served, so no way could his morals be compromised by anything ever. If they served, they MUST be trying to bring our boys only the highest quality of materials, right?

I'm not sure what you're on about, but you appear to be responding to something you think I said, but didn't actually say.

Well, the knife was 113$, so I don't think I got what I've paid.

Well, paying $113 for a CRKT was your first mistake.

This speaks to the deeper issue. You can get a much higher quality knife for less than $50. Any of the Chinese brands I mentioned previously will absolutely smoke this knife on multiple metrics for like half the price (or less).

For what you paid to get that CRKT, you can start finding Chinese knives in the next tier up from those above. That's also around the price where you can start finding Spyderco knives in BD1N and S30V. So arguably, that money could have covered the admission to a quality level two tiers up from what you got.

Man, I'm not "on about" anything, I was not agreeing with you, disagreeing with you... it was just a musing thought, about how its quite easy for somebody with military credentials to sell a knife that seems like it is, well... "military", like this M-16, and in reality, it's kind of an overpriced clunker. You wrote - "The most "Military" thing about these knives is that they're sold at virtually every Base and Post Exchange, because they're cheap. Yes, I know Mr. Carson is a retired Army veteran. Still: cheap knife. Wish they were better."

So, people buy the knives because of an association with military, right? Carson's a vet, and he's selling this knife, the M-16, to appeal to a certain base. He's making them out of pot metal, like you said, and they're selling for a hundred-whatever dollars because of that whole association. "The Special Forces G10 models share a unique design offering a combination of Carson M16 Series features requested by military procurement specialists.". Right? You were saying that the most military thing about 'em is they're at the PX - so I offered a musing, tangentially related thought.

I don't know why you're one of the most consistently crotchety people on this forum, though, I've had like ten interactions with you and I remember this just... hard, unfriendly vibe, every time. "I don't know what you're on about"? It was a dang remark, man. Your phrasing, though, is pointedly unfriendly. But why tho?
I just think its clear why I'd pick your comment to reply that to. Maybe text mistranslates tone, if so, my apologies. But I write this only after repeatedly getting this pointedly unfriendly, prickly vibe from you. It's a forum, man, expect some replies. I'd perhaps choose a friendlier way of addressing people who've done ya no offense. Now I'm on about something 😂 /rant ig
