Well, in general it has been my experience that CRKT has knives made for them that are substandard in quality, materials, and often exhibit fit finish/QC issues. I also feel they are overpriced given their price point. I could see them releasing such a knife knowing full well it was a bad idea. I see CRK as almost the exact opposite and the fact that they would not let this knife enter the market makes perfect sense.
You don't give CRKT the respect they deserve. They have a variety of products that vary in "quality" depending upon model and price. They have given voice to more knife designers, new locks, new knife types, new riffs on old knives, then most other companies. They sell novelty cheaper knives up to higher end knife designer creations. For example, the M16 has been a perennial favorite of the military for many years and has proven itself during the last 17 year overseas "conflict". I own a Sebenza and a CRKT Eros, both Ti framelocks with designer cache, premium steel and perfect fit/finish. The Eros is as good as a sebenza but a lot riskier design that appeals to a smaller market. It's a lot cheaper too. Give em a break
