Cult of the peanut , members

Almost like, it isn't the size of the wave, it's the motion of the ocean.

The Captain's words sound better to me, we'll go with those.

I have not been an enthusiast of yeller delrin. I've found a few peanuts with yeller covers, and gave them away. I'm starting to see the beauty in these covers. Carl is right, they are the rank and file, grunts if you will, of the Cult. They get the job done.

For a real world user, the yella delrin make a great handle. As much as we love the bone on the traditional forums, it odes have it's Achilles heel in some repeats. It doesn't stand up tone being dropped well, and sometimes it cracks around the pins. The yella delrin is neigh on indestructible inure and abuse. It stands out like a sore thumb when set down on the ground for reason, or dropped, making recovery easier and more likely. Much like the reason Victorinox SAK's were red.

I've always thought of the analogy of peanuts the old VW bug. I was a very enthusiastic Beetle owner in the 1960's, 70's and most of the 80's. All kinds of people made fun of my little "Nazi taxi" as my dad called it, but it never let me down. I bought it while serving in Germany, and since e Ihad achieved NCO status, I could get it shipped back for free if it had more than a certain milage on it. So in my off time and leaves, explored Europe with it. Crossed over the Alps and into Northern Italy, over into France, over into the Southern ares of Scandinavia like Denmark and the Netherlands. Good weather and bad, it always got me there and back again. Kind of like the little legume; it always does the job, even if yo ask a little bit too much of it.

Peanuts, VW bugs, and Jack Russell's all have that one thing in common; they get under estimated very often.

All this talk of dogs..pictures of GEC Beagles on the thread, is the Nut about to be eclipsed???:eek::D

My dogs are nuts, if that counts. My friend Joe had a Jack Russell named Peanut. He got out one night, he was almost 20, and my buddy never found him.

These two are my fairly frequent companions. I've used this pic before, but same knives and they still look about the same. This week I had a scare for about a day because I couldn't find the Peanut. It was the day after I went for a medical procedure and I was afraid I had left it at the doctor's. Turns out to have been in the most unlikely of places - in the knife drawer at home.

Just a regular Pocket Worn Bermuda Green SS Peanut, nothing special (other than being quite sharp, and mine) but I'm fond of it and wouldn't want to lose it. I had already been thinking about which of my other three would have to replace her, so I'm glad I didn't have to make that choice.

This is my "go to" pocket knife pairing for a typical work day when I don't otherwise think about what to grab. It is hard to beat the combo of the bigger SAK spear for general purposes with the slim pointy Peanut clip blade for piercing and detail work.

I'm closing in on a week of carrying only my Peanut, and I love it. It's acquired some scuffs and rubs and scratches (there's a nice big one on the bolster at the top of the photo), and it's starting to feel like it's mine.

Somehow, I knew you would. The Peanut "cult" is strong! You have discovered the attraction.

Excellent!

It's a great little knife is all I can say. Never underestimate it.

Just a few tools to get through the day... A Peanut that is beginning to get broken in, a 4-Way Screwdriver, and a cloth for my glasses, computer, and phone.

Ben with those items you're now about 10x more prepared for the unexpected than the average person today.

I was wondering if anyone here had or could take and post a comparison picture including the #18 Beagle, #22 Magnum, and Case Peanut without much inconvenience?

Arizonaranchman: I really enjoy your signature line:

"Totin' a Barlow and a Peanut every day". Tools to live by.

I got this one today and I'm loving it. Yes, I have a peanut problem but this one will get lots of pocket time.

That smooth green bone is lovely! I like Case's smooth bone in general, and that green fits the Peanut nicely.

Thanks. I'm much more pleased with it in person than I thought I'd be.

I am a constant believer in Case's modern green bone but I think the real superstar lately is that green burl making the rounds now. I want everything in those covers and CV. Here, take my wallet.

That's not to say they green curly maple aren't beautiful, because the really are. I've been on a kick for bright covers lately and those are more classic and reserved.
