Cult of the peanut , members

I saw that AGR wharn/clip peanut and immediately went to the site ready to buy and... $160... I'll stick to my Boker for now. Definitely on my list now... I was just talking about how much I wanted a clip/wharn 'nut. I like that the clip reminds me of the Spyderco Jess Horn blade profile too.

Case makes a tiny trapper in that configuration in stag (yes, I confess, I have one), but it's about 3/8" smaller than the peanut and I find I don't often carry it for that reason.

I'm in. Got this one for an early fathers day present Sunday from my 11 year old son. Out of all the knives I have, my son knew I didn't have a peanut. My wife said he went up to the counter at the store and went through a good dozen knives and picked the one that was the darkest red. I don't know who was grinning more, me or my son when he gave it to me. Every time I use it, he'll ask me "do you like it okay?" I've been carrying a Buck knife along with a Case stockman and the stockman has been in my pocket for exactly 11 months..............but the peanut will kick it out.

Your son has great taste, that's a gorgeous legume!!:thumbup::thumb up:

As this is your 'first', don't be surprised if a few weeks from now it feels so natural in your pocket hate he stockman will feel like a brick. The 'nuts are dangerously habit forming.

Perhaps I may be admitted to the cult?

While browsing Blade this year, I happened upon an outstanding peanut and purchased it on the spot! The scales bear the checkerboard of my alma mater - the orange and white of the Tennessee Volunteers!

I have been looking to try a peanut for some time but just had not found the right one up to this point. I immediately purchased the little gem and have been loving it since! The pull is tight and I dig the half stops on such a little knife. The checkerboard is slightly raised so you can feel each and every square.

I live in Georgia now and I get tons of satisfaction in pulling out my little 'nut to show all of these Bulldog fans. On a professional level, there's just something about carrying a little piece of your youth with you in your pocket. It's nice to be able to look down at the checkerboard, run my finger over it, and remember some of the big games I attended at Neyland during undergrad (beating Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, and South Carolina to name a few).

Peanuts are the Jack Russells of the knife world. Just because they're small doesn't mean they can't knock down a bigger knife. Friend of the family told us about his jack Russell knocking a Doberman pinchser into submission.

Jack Russells are the only small dogs I would get. I prefer larger dogs, like labs, but those russells are just plain crazy!

Oh yeah, also, that is cool that your son picked out that knife for you.

I am jealous of both you and your son. My twin sons didn't survive birth (that was 35 years ago). This is the kind of bond that will never be broken.

May God bless you, your son, and your peanut.

Thank you, that really means alot.

When you don't have the opportunity to raise your children (four of my six children never survived). I missed out on the opportunity to either raise, or be with, my two surviving children. Now that my entire family is dead and gone, I have cause to be jealous. The pain never completely leaves you. I will carry it for the remainder of my life.

Love and cherish your son.

My Thoughts and Prayers are with you sir.
My only concern with peanuts and other small Knifes is they tend to get washed with the laundry.

My Peanut rides in my right side sport coat change/watch pocket and my Victorinox "Rambler" rides in my left hand sport coat pocket, while my Boker Plus Barlow rides in my slacks pocket and my Ganzo Model 719 (auto) is clipped to the same pocket Occasionally I'll let my Colonial assisted opening knife ride in the larger sport coat pocket.

If you think that I'm a "knife-nut", you're probably right.

I was a knife in the laundry about 2-3 Times a year.

That is one way to keep a knife shiny and free of gunk. :p

Washing mine ended up being a happy little accident - the shield fell out, I flipped it over, re-finished it to match the bolsters and re-glued it. I like the "plain" shield much better than Case's script on the old version! Here's my lil' legume, which has been a very regular pocket carry for about a year and a half~

The "blessed legume" is a wonderful little knife. The only smaller knife in the Case line is the "small toothpick". While powerful and useful, A smaller Case hasn't the advantage of a secondary, (and smaller) blade. The drop point is useful for precise, accurate trimming and daily cutting tasks. The larger blade covers nearly every other "gentlemanly" purpose under the sun.

The lowly legume proves it's worth on a daily basis, while the larger knives lay dormant in drawers. Under normal circumstances, the little Peanut is an "urban legend". Small yet capable, unimposing, yet powerful. The "little giant" continues to prove it's value. Day in, day out. Year in, year out. Generation after generation. The "Little Big Knife" soldiers on in men's (and women's) pockets everywhere.

"'nuts" to you! ;) :D
