Beautiful Chestnut! I agree with you on the lack of availability in CV blades. I was exited to hear about the pocket worn whisky bone in CV, but to me it looks like a poorly dyed Chestnut. Let's hope next year brings out a different bone and CV combo!

Agreed, Ive been on the fence about the whiskey bone. I may bite the bullet just to see one in hand. Hopefully they do a few CV in some stag, blue bone, green bone. A guy can wish!

If you haven't, y'all owe it to yourselves to see the whiskey bone in person. It looks a lot better than the pics. I bought one :)
I'm finding the pics of Case knives on most vendor sites to be fairly inaccurate as to how the knives actually look. For example the dark red cv is more like fire engine red cv.

For example the dark red cv is more like fire engine red cv.

My dark red CV Slimline Trapper, which I ordered online sight unseen, was more like fire engine red fading to pink on the edges. I didn't like it at all. I tried the tea dye and the pink is gone, but I don't care for the new color either.

My new Chestnut CV is dark maroon on the shield scale, and sort of a brick red color (much lighter) fading to a reddish salmon on the other scale. I prefer the brick red/salmon, but that might just be a side effect of carrying a Victorinox for too long ;)

Well the last cv peanut I need (that I know of) will be here Sunday. It's the nut in dark red cv. I showed my son that's only 3 right now the dark red nut in ss I put away for him when hes older and he asked if I had one that's red to match him. Of course I can't say no to my little man so I'll have a red cv and when hes old enough hell have a red ss.

At work on a Saturday repairing trailer light wires a mouse thought would be a good meal. Got my trusty little friend helping me.

I have a dark red mini copperlock I ordered online. The bright red surprised me and I agree with you. I've been carrying it quite a bit and either its darkened a little with oil and dirt or I've gotten used to it. Now it looks more like the red of a SAK and it doesn't bother me anymore.

I'm not a cult member.....once in you can never get out alive or with your mind intact...:D:D

But I do have a couple of P.Nuts left. Here's a Rough Rider in Green Gunstock Bone, it has nearly sunk joints which is impressive on a tiny inexpensive Traditional.

Those are both gorgeous knives. I would love to see Case introduce more Peanut variants with both scissors and bails. Such a Peanut would be a great alternative to a Victorinox Classic as a keychain knife.

Edit: Wait...are those scissors from a Classic? That's awesome!
The scissors on a Peanut are actually pretty cool. The only thing I really don't like about a Peanut is the standard secondary blade. That is why I look for the single blade Peanuts or something similar (Schrade Pal, GEC #14, etc.) The scissors provide a fairly useful tool. I just don't carry the abalone Peanut that much...only for fancy occassions :) (it is not cheap)
I agree I also would love to see Case introduce more varieties like these.

Those are cool! Where did you get those little chains? -Lance
I got those on Amazon I can PM you the details if you'd like. Any pocket watch chain will do I just took the clip off the knife end and attached it with a small ring. I just happened to like the design of this particular chain so I buy several at a time.
