I have a D2 peanut that I had built by Jerry Barlow. Jerry is in a home now and will never make knives again unfortunately but I have a lot of his art here and this is my fave among them and equipped with what he knew to be my two favorite blade shapes, Muskrat and Wharncliffe. Faux ivory paper micarta scales on this one and its a cutting machine for a tiny folder. Anyway, sorry for the crappy pics. I've lost my digital and this is pics from the old one. I may have a better shot of it somewhere but these are all I can find. Its the only peanut I own other than an old Hibben Spencer and Bartlett Jerry copied to make this one and even then he changed his to make it even better all around than the original.

Last week I got a Case yellow peanut in SS. I like it a lot, and for some odd reason, it feels more comfortable and a bit more substantial in my hand than my older Pocketworn redbone peanut. I've been EDCing it every day, along with my usual carry knives, and using it here and there during the day.

I like that alot. I wish Case would make a peanut model with a clip and wharncliffe.

I just picked up a Case Collector's Club Trappernut, I don't think I've seen too many of those around here. It's a cool little knife

first I heard of it, thanks for sharing. Looks like the spey could "Bosed" into a Wharncliffe, it would also need a nail nick added pile side, where it belongs :-)

Are the case peanuts easy to open?
Case Peanuts have a half stop but yes they are not difficult to open. I have 2 Case Peanuts.. My Father's from the mid 60's and a 2008. Both are great knives.
This post contains absolutely no political content.

I was cleaning up a yellow Peanut earlier. Wasn't paying attention when I closed the pen blade...it went from half-stop to no-stop on my finger! Laid my index finger wide open. It was my own fault. Worst cut I've had in a long time.

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a bit...
I have a ton of case knives, but have been going back and fourth on wether or not to pick up a peanut.
I see there are a lot of opinions on the peanut, most positive but yet I still procrastinate in picking up a peanut...
Love the yeller delrin.....have stockman, trapper and sodbuster sr and jr...also like the red jigged bone a lot too...and of course love the CV(and secretly stainless)

Talk me into a peanut!

I guess I should apply to be a full fledged member of The Cult of the Peanut.

A couple of months ago, I mentioned in another thread that I did not yet have a Peanut to call my own. Shortly after that I received my first in the mail as a gift from a forum member (thank you, Paul!). I loved it and it has become one of my favorite knives. Almost always in my pocket. Since then, I have gone a bit crazy and bought several along with a few Pembertons. I'm hooked on the little devils.

My collection of Case peanuts:

A Rough Rider Peanut (surprisingly nice!) along with my gifted 'nut:

So, oh High Mucka-Muck, do I qualify as a full fledged member? :D

I'm impressed how far you've come in a short time, Grass hopper! Great enthusiasm shown. Peanuts are like that; when you try them, they either speak to you and you fall in love with them, or nothing. You go to the 3d level semi inner chamber.
:D

Welcome to the family, my son.

Carl, Grand High Muckba.

Many thanks, oh Grand High Muckba. I am honored. :)

You're very welcome. I love the stag on that one in the top left corner. Case usually does a mediocre job with the stag, polishing too much of the bark and character off. But yours still has lots bark left. Is the other side as good? And the smooth yellow bone looking one under it looks great too.

Yes, both sides are equally nice. Case calls it "Prime XX Stag" and it is a nicer grade of stag than one usually sees on a Case. I don't think I'll get a chance to take a pic today, but I'll get one of both sides and post it in this thread.

The yellow is not a smooth bone (poor photography skills, ;) ). It actually has an "Aberdeen Jigged Marigold Bone Handle". I don't think that I have the skills to get the jigging to show. It is very subtle and is hard to see even when you have the 'nut in your hand. The style of jigging is almost a corncob, but not quite as symmetrical as corncob usually is.
