Cult of the peanut , members

Thanks Nerfin an r8Shell for the nice comments, an to Stich2442, your Ulster's are where I got my pattern idea for my modified Peanut I showed earlier here. OF course I used some original an some new changes on mine, but thats the fun of knives an if you make them you can do different off shoots which the company didn't do an come up with still a usable knife.

Just curious if other Case Peanut owners experience what I have. I have a Case Peanut Chestnut Bone CV and when I use my thumb to pinch the blade open, I feel the blade tip rub a little against the liner. Both my blades are centered but I notice on the tip of the Clip there is some rubbing marks. Is this normal?
Maybe because it's a small knife, whatever pressure you put on the blade to open it will cause it to rub a little?

I've noticed that on my yellow CV and SS versions. On both the blades are centered, so it must be the pressure I put on the nail nick when opening. No noticeable blade play when opened though. Tough little knives!

All my peanuts that I have owned have had a little rub like that if you pushed too hard with the thumb. The tip of the clip blade is a pretty thin little point, and it flexes pretty easy, but no big deal.

Just wanted to sound off here again. My peanut has been with me almost continuously for the last couple weeks after an on again, off again relationship since I got her last spring. Now, I can't seem to keep it out of my pocket. The patina on the blades has gotten quite dark, and the bolsters are evenly marred from bouncing around in the pocket with keys and being tossed in car cupholders, ashtrays, and accidental drops in at least 5 states (not quite sure why i find that cool). The pen blade, I've found, is perfect for cleaning the ash and wet crud (dottle, I think?) out of my pipe after I'm done. The bone has also smoothed slightly. I'm thoroughly in love with her. I'm most certainly a happy member of the cult! This thread is awesome, by the way, and whenever my peanut-love is wavering, i simply scroll back through it and my infatuation is rekindled once again.

I think it's a hit or miss with these Peanuts, and Case definitely isn't the same company they were years ago imo.

In my case it's the other way around:

My yellow one is off centered to almost toching the shield side liner and my chestnut one is almost perfect.

I received the top knife on fathers day from my son. It's a vintage (1979) peanut. The tang stamp indicates it's bone. Does anyone know the color? Chestnut maybe?

I found an old one in good shape, but with enough wear and pepper spots I didn't mind experimenting. The blades are thin on these guys, it doesn't take long to reshape them. If I break the delicate tip of the wharncliffe, I'll just bring down the spine and make it a coping.
My new yella wharnie 'nut:

Looking good
A pic from the other side ?

Sure:

You can see how scratched up and spotted the blades are. I could clean them up a bit, but honestly, I'm lazy. Once I get the cutting edge the right shape and sharp, I usually don't bother. :D
