Thanks, guys. I have to make a concerted effort to carry other knives; it just works so well in and out of the pocket.

i never got that peanut envy stuff
the medium texas jack is just like a peanut, but for men :) :D

"Manly yes, but I like it too!"
:D
or was it
"Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman."

:D

I like 'em both

Like two brothers, will kick anyone's butt that comes after the other, but together, will rag on one another constantly.

The peanut is the big brother ;)...

Sounds like you are over compensating for some lack:D:) maybe if you need a knife to feel like a man you should carry a chainsaw around with you:D:eek:, I guess to me being a man is a philosophy of how I live my life, taking care of my family making them feel and keeping them safe, keeping my word, being dependable and, self reliant, can fix/build most things, but perhaps the fact that I've carried a pocket knife since six years old helped to shape me into the man I am today? Perhaps it's what helped guide me into being a self reliant person and a tinkerer? I'm a peanut fan, but there's room in my pockets for knives of all shapes and sizes, the Texas Jack in a fine knife I own a few variants, I like the 62087 better per its shape being the same as the peanuts, but I've done plenty of "man" size work with the humble peanut you just can't go at things like a Neanderthal, I digress I came on here to post some pictures of my peanut, today marks three and a half years of everyday carry.

And it's brother

Well said Pete! I like the 62087 myself and own two of them.

I am now going to purchase a peanut to use after reading your testimony. :D I have two old ones that I want to pass down so I don't use them. Case in CV steel for sure.......wish they had more cover options....

What rifle is that?

I'll pm you the info, I don't think Frank and Gary would like the thread to turn into a firearms discussion

Thanks Mark, I've been meaning to email you, hope your mom is doing well, back to knives :)along with more peanut offerings in CV how about one 62087 in it, I would think it would sell well to the folks that like the nut but think it's too small, I'm lucky enough to own a 1970 62087 Red bone that the giant hearted Paul Hilborn sent to me about 3 years ago. The peanut helped me to slow down a bit, I'm a go go go open throttle person most of the time, so it helped me ease back some, I found it to be my favorite fishing knife, took me back to childhood when I carried a Case 6201, it's smaller than a peanut and I did everything with it.

While I like both knives, I can't seem to adjust to carrying a Damascus steel blade knife for pocket carry, because the inclination for the alloy to rust is simply too pronounced.

I agree Pete, Case would sell a lot of 6207's in CV and brass liners would be fine too. Mom is driving and doing great thanks. I should have your scout ready next week. :)

Captain I'm not sure what you mean regarding Damascus steel? As the carbon parts of the blade ( black ) have been etched in acid essentially forcing a patina so it's protected and the nickel (shiny parts) won't rust, there is also all SS Damascus knives so there would be no issues, but I've never understood the carbon steel blades rust problems people seem to have, never had a carbon steel blade rust being around salt water my whole life with no special treatment , and have worked in 100°F-120°F humid environments sweating through my jeans in summer soaking contents including knives also cold wet environments for prolonged periods, knife blades rusting never a issue in my experience.
