current production schedule updates.

That info is always posted up in here!

The time varies but it is usually anytime inn between 2 PM Pacific Time to 4 PM Pacific Time. I assume that the last couple of Monday sales were a bit out of norm time schedule wise because of overload at Survive!'s end.

Coot...look under production schedule.
It will tell u what days that 2nds are available, then U have to check it again on that dare for time...Pacific Time that is.

Yesterday was just a last minute effort. Normally, I try to look at a mix of time zones to find times that work ok for everyone. When we start having some larger batches to list on Mondays I will be better about changing up the times. If it continues to be crazy each week, we will consider doing the 48-presale as a regular option. We will just have to figure out the best timing to minimize production frustrations.
Thank you Ellie. I hope you guys will seriously consider opening up the option of the 48 hrs presale. God bless!

Hi Ellie .. I hope all is well.

Ellie Regarding the Lead Times.. I understand there are no guarantees, but just trying to get a rough idea for some outstanding orders and trying to get a ballpark.

Regarding the SK ballpark guesstimate "Once a model starts production it typically takes 4-6 months for all of the materials to be produced and another 1-2 months to get orders finished, sharpened, and built"

Ellie, Does that run together or separate? In other words, is it eight months 4.7, then eight months after the 4.7 is complete before the 2.7 is complete, then eight months after the 2.7 is complete before 4.1 is complete.. meaning it could be 24 months before seeing the 7/7 ?

The reason I am asking because I see the production schedule has multiple models listed as "in production" but I think SK has in the past been running one model at a time for releasing and leadtimes.. (ie, 5.1 takes six month, then 4.7 takes six months etc)..

Thank you for any help.. I sincerely appreciate it.

Not that anyone has solicited input or requested feedback, but I have a background in management consulting and project management, and feel somewhat compelled to provide both.

As an outsider with only basic information gathered from Ellie and Guy's posts, I know there is probably a heck of a lot more going on behind the scenes for which we're unaware. However, I wonder whether a thorough business process and supply chain study wouldn't go a long way to gathering all of the inputs and outputs, and detailing their respective constraints. From that baseline, a process re-engineering plan could be developed and implemented by priority. Once the new framework was in place a continuous improvement plan could take effect to further mitigate operational constraints while increasing output, customer satisfaction, and ultimately revenue generation and bottom line results.

There are multiple models listed because there are multiple stages each individual model is going through. Just as the 4.7s arrived during the 5.1 frenzy I believe the other models will be spaced accordingly to get each one as close to being done before starting another. That does not mean S! Can't receive a model to get the other portions of the process rolling while Guy finishes the model in the shipping lane. ie.. sheaths and such

I know that's not an explanation from S! nor do I have any authority with them but I'm sure they're not gonna wait long periods between models. They want these knives in our hands as much as we do. Hope that horrible explanation was understandable.

You are right, but I think you are presuming their goal is to increase the bottom line results. They could do that by simply increasing their prices (simply removing discounts at this point), which would likely reduce a small amount of demand, increase the average revenue per unit and give them more time out of the shop. However Guy has stated one of his goals is to provide the knives affordably; which I translate to as low cost as is practical. My thought after the limited information I can gather, and the limited remote observation I have preformed, is that they believe once they overcome the massive backlog of Starter, pre-orders and the like, they will have a good handle on delivery times and waits will be significantly reduced by removing in some cases 12+ months of backlogged demand. At the end of the day Guy is the bottle neck, and so long as that remains the same, nothing is to be gained... wait.....

What if we clone Guy?!

You two! With all your fancy schmancy words. Let me make it simple for Y'all: Once Ellie and Guy decide to expand their family and Ellie becomes a Mom, prices are gonna go^ :p

Depends who kind of car she wants to put the Baby in. Once my wife decided it was nothing but an X5, I knew I was screwed.

Good idea. If I could somehow get my hands on a 4.7, that in an momentary lapse took liberties with one of his fingers, then we'd have some DNA with which to get busy.

And if that fails, we could do it old school. We will encourage them to create their own labor force. If you know what I mean!

I'm guessing a new body style Denali in white and upgraded factory 22" wheels. That would be a very good choice for an Idahoan future soccer-mom in training!

This is Kellog, people. Only people rollin in that kinda ride are on their way to Wallace. If you're from there then you'll get that.

So is this F350 of Ram 3500 country? We live about 45 miles outside the big city near us, and my wife is the only one in our neighborhood with a BMW. You can't argue with a pregnant woman.

I looked into my crystal ball and saw a production line of Guy Jr. sharpening GSOs. Woohoo!

Oh and if any of you guys out there run into this problem, your wife wanting to spend way too much on a vehicle that is way overkill for what she needs, DO IT!

Next time she says, "Do you really need another knife?!" You just reply with "Do you really need an (insert riduclous vehicle here)?"

Boom! You will be getting all the knives you want as long as she has the vehicle.

WINNING.
