Custom Knives At Work.

Gary - the "model" is Merlin. And she's "Andersen Forge Built" :D
Completely made from raw materials - 100% sole authorship. (Except for fiberglass, epoxy, etc. You know - no "kit" stuff.)
I did it myself over a three month period for my 60th birthday present last year. I used it a lot for fishing, but this was my first trip.

Work of art

My buddy up the street makes and shapes surfboards. He uses one of my early kiradashi as a glassing utility knife, which has been a very valuable experiment:

Early season archery bull taken by my customer/friend. Processed with one of my compact scouts in AEBl. Made it through the whole thing without the edge needing touched up. Pretty happy with that.

Nice!
Great size blade for that work. I like 'em compact, not waving around in there cutting everything with little control.
I found that edges need to be cleaned LONG before they need sharpening. A butcher's steel will scrape the gunk off, but just a little field cleaning goes a LONG way.

During the holidays no heavy work, just tasting local products
ham of Aveyron (France region, famous for its laguiole knife )

parfums95, I really like that knife! Who made it, the length of the blade and handle, type steel and type wood ? Thanks, John

Minnesota has an early season Youth Hunt and this is one of my knives field dressing a deer taken by the son of the man who makes my long bows.
Funny how things go around. :)

Another 'Andersen Forge Built' hunter doing what it likes best, out in WY last week. Field dressed my mule deer,

and helped field dress my friend's mule deer later in the day.

Then, harvested some Hungarian Partridge, and my DH III folder helped prepare the evening meal at our camp, helping feed 8 hunters.

Had a great trip with the help of some fine custom/sharp cutlery.
