Don Hanson made a good hunting friend of mine his first custom fixed blade this summer. One of Don's W2 EDC's with Osage orange handle from a 75+ year-old fence post off his Kansas farm. We were blown out of camp early by Atlas, but not before some antelope and mule deer were harvested. Tim broke it in on an antelope and a nice mule deer. Karl, I used your 5160 hunter on my antelope, but didn't get any pictures. Maybe in November. :)

A we work our way through the hunting season this year, let's not fail to post up some of our successes here, guys.

Not as awesome as a lot of uses in this thread but it'll do. Just received my Bluephin from Pohan Leu the other day and it was promptly put on happy hour duty.

you are out bore hunting, why on Gods great earth do you need a sharpy AND a pencil? Lol great looking knife

I have never seen Lin without those and a knife in that pocket. Just standard operating procedure for Lin. Pretty fair chance he was in his shop making Damascus or forging something before heading out after the hogs.

I have a neighbor who bought some wild turkey chicks this spring from the DNR to raise and butcher.
When the time came today - I got the call. :D
I used my personal hunting knife - a W2 and stag affair.
(They all got a chance to use the knife and each one said how it was the sharpest knife they'd ever used. I love W2. )

Very nice stuff, really wish some W2 would start making its self available.

I am French, most of my knives are some "gentleman Folder", Ryan also said : " church knives "

I got these pictures today in my e-mail from the customer who had gotten a matched pair of Benghazi Warfighters for himself and his wife. This is the 578th feral hog that the wife has killed since the spread of the porcine plague reached their ranch in early 2008. It's around 220 pounds.

If you haven't seen the damage a herd of hogs can do in a single night, it is amazing and devastating. They have reached my family's farm in the last couple of years and when they hit it looks like someone got drunk and went plowing, tearing up acres of ground as they search for grubs and other edibles. They are a terrible infestation here in Texas, and I rejoice at every one killed.

Since these are killed for population control (and due to their huge numbers), the wife typically cuts out the backstrap and disposes of the rest of the carcass. She commented on how the blade cut effortlessly through the tough hide "like butter" and how the handle fit her comfortably. Both are things I like to hear from a customer. :)
