Custom Low Rider pocket clips

Not sure if I like the rounded edges... but I also think it would catch like crazy on everything without them. Otherwise I think is looks pretty damn neat. I can send out my Dodo... maybe tomororw probably Thursday. I'm feeling not so good today.
 
Yeah, well the squared off edges may have looked crisp but believe me in the hand you would not like them. I did that after holding it. My wife thinks it needs more taken off but I met her half way.

Yeah I figured that could be an issue. When drawing I use a lot of squared edges, even in organic shapes. It's a stylistic choice which doesn't really work in reality.

Hey would it be okay if I posted your pics of the clip on Spyderco's forums? I'd like to show it to some of the guys over there, will credit them as your pics of course.
 
Yeah thats fine. You can take credit for those super scans though. :D I was too tired to mess with the digital. Sorry.

Hey, I'm going to send the knife soon. Hopefully tomorrow. I need to know how much monies to include? I don't know if it'd be more than the usual $30 seeing how it's more involved.
 
$35 plus shipping is fine on this one. More later will be more though because it takes longer mapping all these pieces out to do one.

Still haven't recieved that Dodo to put the clip on it I made. Have you mailed that out to me yet?

Yeah I sent it out yesterday. Life is a bit hectic as usual and I'm terrible at shipping stuff as it is. Should be there tomorrow or thursday. Sent it Priority.

No Civilian. When did you mail it? I checked the address you sent me and its correct. So hopefully it will show up soon.

Thx for the reply STR, sent it out Thursday or Friday last week via XpressPost (3 to 4 day shipping they told me).

It should arrive sometime this week (fingers crossed, knock on wood, throw salt over shoulder).

Today was one of those days when nothing came in the mail. I've grown so used to something new arriving everyday that it surprised me.

I have a bunch on the way so I'm sure as has happened before it will all arrive at once overwhelming my mailman. Last time he had a bunch like that he had to make two trips to the front door because it was too much for the box. :D

Sometimes I see him out there mumbling to himself when he delivers to me. Funny he doesn't do that for the rest of the neighbors. :eek:

Ok my friend. I got your Dodo today and once in my hands the clip is installed.

Hope you like it. The ball lock seems to work fine for me. You are the final judge though.

have you done any work on a SOG night vision, I am looking to get a used one and I might just have it sent straight to you for a low-rider clip and a nice sharpening/freshen up.
 
Sharpening fresh up is not a problem. Can you post a pic or a link of the knife to help me see it? Also, knowing the liner materials and handle materials helps me but mostly seeing the existing clip is a must.

hold on Ill get some pics someone did a review on here with some huge pics. I might be looking into a G-10 spyderco PM, I assume you have done about a million of those by now correct.
 
I have installed so many low riders and other style clips on both the Para Military and the Military yes. In fact many models of all knives come to me repeatedly and after a while I stop posting them because its just too redundant. But yes in answer to your question I do see quite a few for clip mods.

The SOG you asked about does not look like one I can do a low rider on using the existing hole pattern in the knife for the current clip though. I think I can make one work on it but I'd have to drill and thread new holes which is a question mark if the liners are hardened stainless. I may be able to I may not. It always depends on how hard they are.

well that made up my decision for me I will be looking for a new para military it is. I will look around your domain here for pics of PM's you have done. What would a clip run for one either blasted or maybe anodized.
