Custom Low Rider pocket clips

If I wanted a low-rider clip in blue jean anodized titanium for a Benchmade 942, would you need the knife? I think it would be very complimentary, given the blue anodizing on the spacer that already exist on this knife. Maybe you'd need the knife to match up the colors better (or is there that much control in the color anodizing process?).

Depending on the material your blue part is made of. The colors on aluminum are sometimes just a shade off of titanium but its close at times.

I'd need to see the knife first since I am unfamilar with it but in answer to your question, yes most always I need the knives in hand to know where to make the fold over in the clip so its properly positioned. The good news is that the turn around times are quite fast on these smaller jobs.

Oh and also I do have some control over the shade and darkness as well as the brightness of the colors yes. Scan a pic of the clip side, list out the material and let me see the existing clip so I can figure out if I can do something for you and we'll go from there.

Thanks for asking.

Here is a knife I've never seen before that just arrived earlier today. Says Linton knives on it with a little Scorpion symbol. Looks like a fine knife. Built pretty well I'd say with some neat features. Not sure what they run money wise but its not a badly built folder at all. Now this is what I call blade heavy though. Hard to believe all that blade fits in this little handle but it sure does. :D

Here are a couple pics. Before and after with a clip and screws supplied by the owner to mount to his knife.

As requested its as close as I can come to your pictures my friend.

It will ship home today.

Oh, all the smudges and scratches are my glass on my scanner. Sorry, I use it for stuff its not supposed to be used for and its dinged it up the thing something fierce.

Got a Dozier custom mailed to me the other day for a custom low rider. First one I've had mailed to me that was one of Bob's knives. I've done several of the Kabar models though. This one had to be bend with a curve for the mounting area on the clip as well as folded over. It was a bit challenging to match it to the curve of the 'shoe shine' polish Bob puts on his folder handles but I got it.

Its riding low now!

Thanks Robert for trusting me with you very nice little folder here. I know you must miss this gem.

Got a bit of a challenging Elishewitz designed BenchMade folder in the mail late yesterday. This is a super little folder. In fact I wouldn't mind having it at all. But it had no clip when it was bought I guess, or the original was broken or something. Anyway, the owner sent me a drawing of what he'd like. Took me two tries. I ran the first one along the edge like the original and didn't like the way it felt in the hand. Ruined it trying to curve it along the pivot because my new Blaze ceramic belt cut much faster than I ever expected and went right into one of the mounting holes before I caught it. That brought out some choice words!:D

But the second attempt went much better and I ran it out more toward the middle which made a big difference in the feel. This one I like. I anodized it blue to match the liners which were already blue from the factory.

Nice! Even if I do say so myself.

Hope you are happy with it James.

You ever sell this one let me know. If I have the bucks I might want it.

Here in the pictures we have it the way it came to me in the mail. And then afterward with one picture by the drawing of the idea the owner of the knife had in mind for the clip. The blue matched up pretty well and it functions fine too. It will be on the way back home shortly.

Very nice, thanks so much for the hard work. I got lucky when a Spyderco forumite messaged me about buying it. I can't wait to get it. The clip looks better than I would have thought and better than my illustration.

That look very nicely done. Im considering a tip up Para Military clip. Doesn't even need to be a low ride clip. Though I don't know just how it could be pulled off. Have you done any of the sort? Maybe a pic if you have?

Edit: Aye crap, I just looked a page back and saw a tip down mili clip. That would be perfect. Ill be PMing you some day soon. :)

Thanks. Contact me anytime.

Here are two made to order today. Another low riding mini Grip, and Spyderco D4. This one Waved from the factory.

Saw the mini grip with your clip for sale on another forum, made me come back to hunt you down for one as well! Do you need my mini grip to make a clip just like the one seen above?

Well, yeah unless its just like the one currently here. I need to know though because its technically packed up ready to ship tomorrow but if you want one I can use the one thats here as the template before it leaves. Let me know though because I don't want to cut the tape unless you want it. Also, if its not the exact same model I'd say send me the knife so its for sure going to fit right. I'd hate to find out it was slightly different or something. If you are sure though we can sure do that and I can send you my pay pal address or home addy.

No problem Steve, I'll just send it to you, I have some other ideas shooting around for another item I've got, so I'm going to have to ship to you anyways. Thanks.

Oh good! Not to sound lazy but its hot and I have neglected getting my A/C hooked up in the shop. I was not looking forward to going back out there. Tomorrow I plan to install it which means cutting a hole in the wall but it must be done. This humidity is killing me about mid day. Once I get inside I'm a stinky boy. :barf:

Tell me about it, Im not too far away and just yesterday cleaned out my AC in my apartment. It was killer hot. Being on the second floor doesn't help at all either. Condenser drain was backed up.

Ill shoot you a PM when ever Im adequately funded for a Para clip. :)

No problem. I do a lot of those for the Para Mil. Its the most frequent request I get for low riders.

Well, just found out from the owner of the two knives above that he didn't want blue clips. So my bad there. I'll bead blast the blue off in the morning my friend. No problem. Won't take but a few minutes to accomplish. I'd do it right now but I've already showered. When you see them next they'll be bead blasted though. No worries.

STR

Hows this? All bead blasted and packed up. They'll still be out in the morning mail.

Got my Benchmade 690 back today. As I mentioned it was bought used and was a bit dusty and grimey. I took the whole thing apart and clean the hell out of it and put it back together. Now I just need to get the few small spots of rust along the edge off.

His low-rider clips are great. You will love them and they actually add value and a touch of class to any knife that gets one. You won't be disappointed

:D

Thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.

These lowride clips are awesome! I just picked up a used Cabella's D2 Griptilian with one off of CPFs, and I love it.

Regarding the blue lowride Delica4 clips, do you need the knives to fit them or can they just be bought directly?
