CUSTOM MACHETE Challenge!

Tom, throw your hat in the ring. I'd love to see what you produce. I think this has been extended, time wise.

Koyote, I really like that design. Beautiful work, as usual. It's almost like a barong, but with less of a point. A barong to me is one of the most useful designs because it's wide enough for turning food, great at cutting and chopping, but it has enough of a point to make it useful for gutting a fish, etc. if it's your only tool, which it often is in The Philippines.

yeah, how fast can you turn one out?

Just for info. Who is officially "done" with their machetes now and ready to submit?

Sorry guys.... I can't make the deadline.... WAY too busy. I would need a couple weeks still, so its not fair to the others. Hopefully another will come along.

Rick

I'm still a few days out on sheath finishing right now, too. And someone needs to tell me where I'm shipping to :D

yep, we'll get all that info out to the makers once everyone is about ready to go. You will be getting a PM with the info.

I am making the sheath for mine tomorrow. After that, final sharpening and shipping are all that remains :)

I'm not anywhere near done so I have to drop out of this one. I had some equipment issues and other projects ahead of this one. the equipment is up and running but it would be a couple/few weeks before I would be done. Sorry guys. Looking forward to seeing how everyone else does though and I'll start a pass around or a give away when mine is done. Good luck to the other participants.

I would love to have 2-3 weeks if I could... I understand we've been waiting a long time as it is, now.....

..... but pweeeeeeeeeeeeeease?

If its alright with Bill, I think its fine too. I've got so much snow around here it would probably benefit horn dog and I too. St Patty's day it is!

I'm no where near being done. My apologies, I had some setbacks and wasnt able to devote as much time to making it as much as I'd of liked to. Also the blade I had started I didnt feel really "met" the criteria, so I was designing a new piece. My apologies for falling off the face of the earth. Given a few more weeks I could make it. :) 03/17/10 it IS!

awesome!!!, I get to lose to more people :D :D

Win or lose, that blade is awesome!
I'm not sure but I think that may be the first time I've ever used the word awesome.

Wow Koyote! That is one serious jungle apocalypse you've made there, fantastic looking!

a few weeks could help me too. ATL has gotten way too much rain and snow for good work. Mine is ready for HT.

I'd love to get in on this but I have no stock big enough and no way to heat treat a blade of that length. Good luck to all of the makers involved. Can't wait to see how they all turn out.
