Custom shop

So....whats new guys?:foot:

I dont check the forums over the weekend. As much as I love knives, I deal with them all week and the weekend is for my family. (except for the occasional visit to fleabay) So please dont blame the lack of response between friday and tuesday as a lack of caring on my part.

I was trying to get to the page with the custom shop in the last few days but it is empty all the time. Also the new site does not work well with Firefox and Opera.

When the new site will be fully functional?

MAN am i glad i not the only one!!!!
it worked 2 times for me only then i get the next 30 times that same blank page ... was begining to think i was band from there! useing IE7 here

I get into it using the netscape evolution called FLOCK. Works ok.

my IE wouldn't load it either. Probably a pop-up blocker and I just didn't take any time to figure it out.

Wow!!! Lot of people here got their tails in the air over one post. As Rodney King said, "can't we all just get along?"

As far as Joe is concerned, with the extra miles he has gone for the loyal Buck Customers, he certainly deserves the high compliments set forth here.

In my own experience, I have always been treated by Joe like I was the only customer Buck had. I couldn't have been treated more royally if I had been royalty. For me his extra miles are more like a marathon.

Bob7, stick around, enjoy the knives and, after awhile, you might want to retract your words as they apply to Joe.

Telechronos :D:D:D

I have had NO trouble getting into the Custom Shoppe with Firefox......but, I do have a high-speed cable hookup.

Connection speed may be the more pressing problem for some here.

Well folks, I guess I'll take the plunge and give the new Custom Shop a try.

I have waited to get a KOA Flamewood 110, but due to the new price increases, I dropped to Heritage Walnut.

154CM Nickel Silver and Heritage Walnut ordered just now, and the confirmation email says the expected shipping date is tomorrow, which seems REAL quick, so we'll see.

Well, I suspect there was a certain amount of shock and amazement when an order came in.

:D

Like ..... "WHAT?" "YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!!!"

:D

Now if someone would just go ahead and order a damasque and paua.......

We'd REALLY shock them!!!

I just ordered one myself with cherry wood and nickel silver.Bought a tan leather sheath for $5.00.Total $106.00.Seems like a fair deal to me.

What was your delivery date?

I got one like that in BG-42 for around $80 a few months ago.

What steel did you choose?

I didn't see a delivery date.I'm in no hurry.I got the 154CM blade which with the Bose heat treat and Buck overall quality could be argued to be worth $100.00 in itself.Another knife is the last thing i need.It just seemed like a good time to show my support for a great American company i've admired and respected for years.I just hope they can pull through these tough times.

You should get a confirmation e-mail with a shipping date on it.

You won't get an argument from me on value.

I consider my $80 BG-42 to be worth three times that figure.

Delivery date 5-30.That's pretty hard to beat and worth some coin also.Oh,And free priority mail shipping.

So we are learning that they have some (at least these two) on hand for immediate shipment?

Wonder how big the stockpile is?

I don't see how the extra cost is justified....
You can get a Basspro Buck 110, 154CM steel and rosewood scales for $75.00 dollars.
It sounds to me like Buck's Custom Shoppe is charging an additional $25.00 dollars just cause it has nickle-silver bolsters.:grumpy::thumbdn:

Here's a link to the Basspro Shop 110:

In my case, I actually had both knives onscreen to compare, because I wanted something with nicer wood scales and steel.

With shipping, the Bass Pro 154CPM is $84.00, while the Buck is $101.00, but I wanted NS bolsters and no dark coating on the blade, so for $17.00 more I chose the CS over the Bass Pro.
