Gosh it's really nice to see all the fine customs here.

waynorth, your collection is a pleasure to view, and it sure makes a difference to see them open as well.

Thanks Gary for posting your open shots of the Ohta and Davision.

Kerry, those are sweet!

Great thread Elliott!

I've enjoyed this thread as well. I'll get a group shot in here eventually. Thanks to all who have posted.

Better two of the best, than all the rest, Kerry;)!

Let's see how this works; I'm not very good at this type of thing.

As you can see, this was done on a scanner--I couldn't do very well with the camera that I have. These are my stag beauties.

Clockwise from top: Terry Davis, Ryuichi Kawamura, Dan Burke, Tony Bose.

They are all nice, Shaldag, but Tony's knife has the best proportions!
Great bunch!!

Unbelievable. Thanks fo sharing guys guys.I've owned six customs in my existance. a small Khalsa subhilt,a Jim Serven small folding stiletto, a Jerry Fisk persian damascus boot that he made with someone else, and a nice embelished rams horn skinner by ???, an early Al Mar, and a really early Samual Barlow.I feel shamed I don't have them to snap a pic for you guys. After being on this forum a while i'm kicking myself for letting more go that didn't need to.
I figured I would add barlows name because he hammered them out by himself. Just 250 sumthing years ago.
Thomason is that one on the top right ebony? It's a beauty.

thanks for the feedback.
I'm going to try to do a couple more, even though
the scans do not do the knives justice.

These are my 5-bladed whittlers. The large checkered white MOP is by Richard Rogers,
the other white MOP is by Reese Bose (This has been seen before on the Bose knives thread),
and the black-lip checked & piqued MOP is by Joel Chamblin.

The knives in the picture below are my favorite little knives.
The top one is by Ron Newton, and is fantastic black-lip.
For some reason, I can't get the colors to come out.

The middle one is also by Ron, and I believe that he calls it a "Tuxedo knife".
Again, a lot of the detail has been lost. The frame is integral grayed Damascus,
with a small bit of engraving. The scales are black-lip, checked and piqued.

The bottom knife is by Dan Burke, with black-lip scales inlaid with sea-snail.

Very elegant knives, Shaldag.

Why thank you, sir.
I consider all of these to be some of the best examples of modern craftsmanship that I know of. The artistry and engineering ability of these guys* astounds me.

*As well as numerous other makers--some not really belonging in the traditional forum.

Shaldag,

I was wondering where the Reese five-blader was in your first post. You have a great collection of custom knives.

Mike,
some of this is personal taste.
A lot is due to these forums--reading and paying very close attention to what the folks on this forum and in the custom forum are saying. It is a very knowledgeable and nice community, and I am glad to be a part of it.
