Cutlery Proposals for the Bladeforums 2015 Knife

Did someone mention a spear main on the gec? Long pull swedged spear and sheep foot would be a cool combo.

More torn than I thought I would be. Really wanting to add a CSC to my collection. For some reason I don't have any.

Longpull Spey blade as seen on the upcoming 2015 TC Barlows and a secondary wharncliffe/sheepsfoot would be superb.

What I really like about that new TC Barlow spey blade is not the long pull, but the wider blade. A wide blade spey like that would be great on that GEC forum knife!

Very True Scott, I'm new to spey blades but I see it now with comparison. And seconded for the spey blade!

Nothing like an angry mob to rev things up. Sounds like we are in view of the home stretch.(that actually means nowhere near the finish line yet).
It does sound like there have been some hurdles successfully negotiated and very much on track.
Just a few niggly little details to be hammered out:p

I asked Wally, and he can no longer get that 14-4CrMo in useful dimension!
Too Bad!!

Charlie -you are the man in the callers box for this race. Tell me,are there any that look more likely than the others? Any mules that don't want to come out of the stall? Anything definitely thrown a shoe and scratched? Whats the mail? I'm tipping a daily double-the GEC 81 with clip and wharny with the CSC shadow -According to the form these seem to be the frontrunners.
Cheers

I'm certainly in the wide (almost spear-like), long pull spey main crowd. In either the CSC or GEC models presented.

Sheepsfoot and 440C, please.

I just tried to catch up on every page here. Will be my first forum knife process. My brain is a bit of a blur after reading all of the info but is the original CSC shadow still in contention or some form of it? If so it has my vote.

Another vote for Sheepsfoot or Wharncliffe here. I would love to have a good utilitarian blade. Those are fantastic for opening boxes and getting through that plastic packaging stuff.
Edit:
For main blade I'd love a clip point or drop point. I'd like a blade that had a sharp tip, then the secondary could be the sheepsfoot. Good combo in my opinion.

Yes - pointy main blade with some belly, with a straight-edged secondary, covers most of the useful bases in one package

Both companies entries/offerings are really nice. It is hard to judge, so I am going with the one that is the least familiar to me, the CSC in the "shadow" format. Heck, I will be happy with either.

I still like the CSC shadow with the lower profile. Makes my "must have it" alarm go off. I don't get the same feeling with the GEC.

If we go with 440c, I wonder if it is possible to go with a satin or as ground blade finish?

I am not a fan of the full mirror polish.

The satin finish was definitely an option with the CSC as Eric put the satin finish on the second version of the protype he made up for us. I'm still all in for the CSC version.
