This is my first reply in this forum and after reading the other replies I just wanted to share my own experience with Dan.I ordered a bushcraft in 3v,it was one of the one's
left over after the blade show.I paid for the knife and also a sheath after about 5 days
the knife was received but no sheath.I e-mailed Dan and let him know that I did not receive the sheath.He responeded that he would get another in the mail asap and if I did not get it after 3-4days to let him know.Well I waited and after day 4 still no sheath
so I e-mailed him again only to get an automated e-mail tell me he was gone until 7-7-08
I was getting pretty upset by now,but I thought what can you do but wait.And then today the sheath arrived with a bonus army firesteel.This is my first knife and dealings
with Dan Koster and I think he is a very busy man and if you have a little patience he will make it right with you.
 
Welcome tracker2, I know Dan would make this right, I wish I had know he was away on a trip I would not have post until his return,so he could speak for him self..

TTD- You're stand-up guy, and if weren't for Dan, I wouldn't have a Big Nessmuk.....

hey ted.. welcome...:thumbup:

i was closer to the bottom of the original list of bushcrafter knives, that dan made.. i got the knife and sheath and as with all of dan's work, it was crazy sharp and very well built... i used the knife here and there, in my field blade line up and in the kitchen.. but for some reason, i just couldn't get used to it...:o i think i am not much of a scandi grind knife person.. i also tend to prefer more of a belly on my knives...
 
TTD, that sucks that your knife didn't come pretty bro, but he does put a scary sharp edge on it ha:eek:

However I would shoot him an email and let him know you like the blade but would like it alot better if it wasn't all scratched up. I got a feeling he'd do you right.

I also got a Blade show leftover Bushcraft, and I am super happy with it.:thumbup:

Dan forgot my sheath also which is understandable as he sold a helluva alot of knives that day, so I just let him know and he sent the sheath out to me.
I recieved it a few days later. :thumbup:

it is wicked sharp....I have been told he is outta town for a while.....
 
my bushcrafter, which just got mailed out to guam today :o , didn't come too pretty either... it was sharp, but it also had some lines going across the unfinished portion of the blade, on both sides.. wasn't that big of a deal, i just didn't expect it...
 
This might have already been answered, but to texastony and Martin, what is the steel on your knives?

Yeah, I'm one of the guys that reads the first post and then skims over the rest...:p:D

mine is as followed from DK order tracker
Length: 4 Height: 1.5 Thickness: 0.156
Steel: Carbon | O-1
Finish: Hand Rubbed
Edge: Basic Sharpen
Treatment: Standard
