I really thought this was over with. Regardless of how often I have logged in to this forum (I know Franklin is monitoring my activities here) this is the first time I have looked at this thread since my last post here.
The thread from 2001 was 5 years ago and I have let my GOLD MEMBERSHIP lapse. I find it amazing that Mr Franklin would accuse me of selling here when he offered me cash for this very knife in question and I refused his offer. He knows the truth.
The accusation that I kept putting him off is not true I communicated to him that I was receiving pain blocks in my back which made it difficult to reply to mail for a total of 5 days. (He was aware of this and acknowledged this to me indicating to me that he too was recovering from an accident).
There was no deal that I am aware of. I did not agree to any of his kind offers and there was no "electronic handshake" if you will. I know that he is disappointed he did not get the knife he was lusting for, but it is my perogative to trade or not and no amount of badgering and untruths will pressure me otherwise.
This is really pathetic, Mr Franklin I am sorry for you. As far as your demand that I be a man and answer your trumped charges, I have tried to be respectful of you and your opinions and allow you time to cool down. I have not replied to you in anger or profanity, it is too bad that you cannot be civil to myself and the others that have tried to reason with you.
I would ask you to provide proof or take your anger somewhere else. You started this thread to damage my reputation here and I think perhaps the real problem has revealed itself.

So Franklin claims. But he's yet to substantiate said claim. That is what most of this thread is about: Franklin substantiating his claim he was done wrong by Dale.
I don't know either of the parties involved. I stepped in at one point merely to try to make the point above clear to Franklin. He ignored my point then, just as he's either ignored it when it was made by others or, astonishingly, claimed Dale is responsible for incriminating himself!

I would like to see something that would show that Dale had said that it was a done deal. Franklin, if you have an email from dale that states that he has accepted the trade, then post it. If not, then maybe it's time to move on. Nothing is being gained by continuing to protest that you have been wronged without substantiating that that is indeed the case. You have stated that there was a deal. Dale has stated that there wasn't. When someone has a long established good reputation, like Dale has, unless there is proof otherwise, he is the one that is going to be believed. You may not think that is right, but that's just the way it is.
Mr. Richmond, After cooling-off, I wanted to appologize for airing this in a public forum.
But as you know, I dealt with you in "Good Faith" in a patient and kind way.
What no one else will know, is exactly how it all unraveled.

Franklin the talk of purchasing from someone without a gold membership is kinda wrong on your part. As was pointed out those were a long time ago etc. But there is NO RULE against answering a wanted to buy post someone posts nor regular contact through email.You only can not post a for sale add without the Gold membership. I myself had a gold membership but due to the fact I was a "dealer" I was not allowed to sell-even my private stuff. I got a bit miffed when I see alot of folk sellin more knives than I ever did without thier 500 pluss dealer membership and a few sellin for what I believe are profits. There was nothing in between that I ever saw so I could not justify it. There is nothing wrong with the rule but I could not justify the expense. I have been contemplating one again but I am still thinkin on it. As far as that post from 2001- yep we did deal and do talk occasionally even entertain some trades with some indecisiveness on both sides occasionally ... I do hope you have calmed down. Funny thing though I believe you have several "this is my last post" on just this thread alone...

Actually there are a few that do care what I have to say and likely respect what I have to say -depending on the topic.... At least some of the older members- I like quite a few others aren't as active here as we once were.
Actually there oh mr research- I have started a few more than that that had been deleted in the Busse forums at one time... there are some facts you are not privy to here. And BTW starting your own threads is not a big indicator of respected standing in a community. And BTW I have helped with quite a few answers in those seven years- go ahead and look em up.

someone needs to step back and take a deep breath, it doesnt sound to me like anyone has done any wrong, if someone backs out of a deal (either party) for this reason/that reason/no reason at all its no big deal, all anyone lost is a little time, thats all, and we all probably have too much of that lol.
i know how disappointing it is to want a knife, think ya have cut a deal, only to have it fall apart, but thats just part of dealing, ya gotta aget over it, life is wayyy too short to worry about a silly knife, i'm sure ya will find the knife ya want again, and heck maybe even get a better deal.
