Danny Collection is here...

I see it too. I have 5160 knives, I have drop point knives. I have burlap Micarta knives. But I didn't have one made by Danny. 10 years or longer from now, God willing, my son will be selling this knife to you guys for $50, not realizing what its history was.
I'm pretty meticulous with writing out the shipping box contents on it exterior. What it is. If it's limited. What it's made out of. How much I paid for it. If I have a packing slip, it stays with the knife.
My boys are interested in knives and have small collections, but I still bore them with knife talk sometimes.

As for COAs, I feel they are very important. I really like how the Custom Shop COAs are signed by the fabricator. With so much fraud out there, a COA is a bit of reassurance. Sure COAs can be forged, which is why I don't post pics of them online, or if I do for a sale, they are deleted afterward. But if I'm standing at a show or any second hand dealer, a COA will make a sale. Probably for a higher price than if there was none.

Edit on my comment about CS COAs. A lot of us buy Buck because we like to support an American Co. Or collect American heritage. It's nice to see the signature of that American that makes the knife. It is a very nice touch.

Can you confirm that Mr. Peretti did indeed make the Buck 110s?

Edit: Not trying to be a jerk here, this is just the first time I've seen something like this where a COA was left out of a special knife of a run where the others of the run included them. It kinda smacks of "Well, if they wanted a COA, they should have bought one of the $400 knives".
In the video he claims to have made them.

vanguard would have been great to have but missed it as well. like the vantage a lot but the price is just too much for me.

wish Buck would do some runs of the long blade vanguards......

110 is great too, but I got a bunch of the c&c 5160 drop point 110s...so don't need another one.

those who get any of them.....please show 'em off for us when ya get 'em, thanks.....

But do you have a drop point 5160 110 assembled by the magical hands of Danny?

I thought the quantity was higher on those. Is this something that is very important and needs to be included on his builds moving forward?
COA's are VERY important on custom knives especially because they tend to not have date codes.
Also because they are not in the general catalog where they can be looked up for reference documentation.
It would be helpful if Buck included a date on the COA going forward.
Buck needs to keep in mind these are generally collector items and documentation is everything.
No one is going to actually use that 932 to skin out an Elk. (well, maybe CJ would)

addendum... please kick the behind of anyone who suggests that laser etching that f...ing "Limited Edition"' on the blades is a good idea.
It's just plain cheesy.
addendum 2... while I'm on a roll. Nice size appropriate 2 pc boxes please. Those oversize magnetic boxes that would hold 10 knives is a waste. (this is coming from someone who has to store more than 20 boxes ;o)

I don't like stuff etched on blades. But I would say you should save the box, because it will have the date and the part number on it which, to me, is more important than a COA. Often times counterfeiters will duplicate a knife pretty well but not pay a lot of attention to the box (believe it or not).

Anyone have any insight where the "932" model number comes for the skinner knife? I did a little quick searching on-line, but came up empty trying to compare it to any like models.
I know currently on the Buck website the "932" is the slicer/bread knife in their kitchen collection.

There was a 901 Custom Shop Bowie, and I think there were other Custom Shop knives with 900 series identifiers. Not all Custom Shop knives have model numbers stamped on them, so model numbers for those might be hard to track down. Specifically, why is that knife a 932? Dunno.

Because it is 923 not 932

Edit: Do I have to do everything around here?😀

The 923 is the medium sized skinner.
There's also a 921, and a 925.

You don't see them much lately.
Now I gotta go see what year any of them were last in the catalog.🤔

I found the 923 in the Custom Shop in 2003 by WBC.
It was stated as "new" but I sorta thought it was older than that.

There was also the 920 Skinner Trio which was a matching set of all three (921, 923, 925).

This one in Mesquite came in a nice felt lined display box (which I have somewhere...).

The 923 I have was made in 1990.
