He makes one in his mid-tech HTM line up as well if you're tight on funds.

My daughter Kimberly has become a regular at Blade, crusing around in her wheelchair. (She is a hit and run victim with TBI (traumatic brain injury.) We were on the way out of the show this morning to go home when Mr. Ralph called to her. Apparently they got acquainted last year. We briefly exchanged plesantries, he handed her one of these knives (the top one) and said, "This is yours."

I had never met him before, although I have one of his Madd Maxx Bowies. Nice gentleman. Mr. Ralph, thank you for being so kind to my daughter.

Now that's cool!

Hey, nobody has mentioned the new Mid-Tech Madd Maxx knives yet they're are popp
ing up everywhere.Does anyone have one and how do they compare to the custom version

Nice choice. The basis for TNK Model 10 DDR's "EDC" model. Each year he makes a short run variant of the EDC.

Here is my EDC, with a huge Chad Nichols damascus blade with a traditional tanto grind.

mndart,That's a nice one!

MikeH,Thanks for sharing that story.

Vege-Taco,What can I say?:eek:I'm speechless.I don't think I could ever acquire such an amazing collection,if I lived two lifetimes.
I hope you're enjoying them.:)

Not to highjack the thread, but I stopped by your booth on Saturday at Blade. You were out walking around the show, but I meant to ask if you had plans on making titanium scales for the HTM line. To my surprise, the guy working the booth mentioned you were toying with the idea. If you do make them available for the HTM line, would it be possible to send in existing knives to get the titanium scales installed?

To answer sierra's question, early lockup seems normal for the HTM knives. When I first got my HTM GH2 in bowie in early February, the lockup was early as well. It's since seated a bit more and is locking up at about 50% of the lock bar.

Harkamus,
We are always working on new ideas for the DDR CUSTOM and HTM lines of knives.
To address what Dirk Pinkerton "that guy in our booth at the blade show" said - In passing I mentioned to Dirk that we were honored to have Blade Magazine rate our DDR Gun Hammer knife as one of the Top Ten Knives of the last decade, that we needed to do something to make the Gun Hammer available for more collectors. So we have considered the idea of a full size Gun Hammer in some form in the HTM line as a possibility.

We are always interested in comments about future projects from our collector base. Post your ideas. Who knows!!!

DDR CUSTOM VS HTM
We base our knife designs on what I call "SALT of the Earth" ideas and innovations. After almost twenty years we have decided that Hype and Fads come and go. Today - Intel is still Intel - DDR is still DDR. Intel makes the Celeron chip and the i7 chip. We make the DDR Custom knives Like Intel makes the new i7 - a fantastic high line chip, and we make the HTM knives - simular to Intel's "Celeron" entry level chip. They both do the job. They are both DDR.

Thanks
DDR

P.S. HTM has added a Dirk Pinkerton custom knife design as a collaboration with HTM knives.
He designed a fantastic Titanium Neck Knife for HTM.
This knife is at www.knifebuy.com if you want to see the pictures. If you cannot find it at the site it will be up soon from what I am told.

Mike,
Your Daughter Kimberly is a sweet girl that loves knives and just being at the Blade show. She should be the poster girl for life in general. She has a great spirit that soars. I hope to see her and you next year at the show. Please make a point to stop at the booth!
Please enjoy the knife.

Darrel, I'll perpetually be kicking myself in the ass for losing the first knife you made for me. It was identical to Dan's... DLC 4" stiletto Maxx with MOP inlay. One day when I have the ability to squirrel away $2k, I'll be begging you to make a plane jane S2 D/A Stiletto with no filework, bead blast S30V blade, bead blast liners and bolsters with black G10 inlays.

You said you wouldn't make any more but hopefully $ talks ;)

I had one of the early mid-tech Gunhammers with G-10 handles. Wish I still had it. My only issue with it was that it was tip-down only (I just think flippers should be tip-up or at least have that option).

I also had one of his customs & should've kept that one, too. Oh well, we learn. On think about DDR's flippers is their ergos are very nice. The knife is just comfortable, not to mention they look great.

MikeH, that's a great story. It's always nice to hear things like that.

I have an Apogee left hand that DDR made for me in 2000 in s90v. Nice little knife but a safe queen none the less as it has DDR MM engraved on the clip. He treated me well and I think his stuff is great.:cool::D;)
