Wow!I gotta remember to put on my drool bib next time I open this thread!:D

Great knives & pics guys!

I love the pics guys, keep it up. I am considering picking up a DDR Trigger Maze and I am wondering what you guys think of the assisted opening feature. I have never been a fan a AO but I have really only tried production knives with AO and never a custom one. What are your thoughts?

I have the TM without the AO.You have to give it a little wrist action,or hit the flipper pretty hard.Because it's only a 3.25 blade,it doesn't get as much momentum as the larger ones.

quote from an email from Darrel Ralph regarding Trigger Maze non-assisted
We can do those modifications for you .

Being a small blade the flip with take a little wrist action.

The blade will not have the weight of a larger blade that will keep the momentum.

This one posted by Vege-Taco would totally be my "Grail Knife".

MAN that is amazing looking material!

That is Walrus Ivory LX_E. I was lucky to have gotten this one right here on BF awhile ago.

Darrel sure does make some real cool and trippy knives as many have mentioned in this thread. Some of the old school blades with DDR's own damascus are some very artsy and bold pieces.

Here's my 5.5 back from the DDR health spa:

Hey Charile Mike, the lock bar on my 5.5 is pushed all the way over is that something Mr. Ralph could fix? Do you get a new grind on your 5.5?

What size/model is yours? I've had a (RIP) 4" stiletto Maxx and HD Maxx do the same with a decent grip, but the lockup stays tight. You could also have the lock surface carbidized. The grind on my 5.5 is still the same, just had it cleaned, tuned, and sharpened.

Charlie Mike,That's Hot!

Is that S30V or 154CM?

Does it have the IKBS?

Oh no, none of that non-sense. D2 hollow ground. It's at least 9 years old.

Has anyone had a need to utilize Darrel Ralph's customer service ? Trying to decide between a DDR Trigger Maze and a CRK Umnumzaan. Always heard that CRK customer service was great !

Thanks,
John

I bought a mid-tech 18-XRAY that needed a lock adjustment. I e-mailed Darrel and he got back to me right away. I sent it in and got it back quickly. If he supports the Mid-Tech line this well, I'm sure the support on his customs would be just as good. I really can't see any of his customs needing any "fixes" though.

Lucky indeed. I don't think I've ever seen ivory with a stripe like that before.

Very nice indeed. Put's a lot of mammoth ivory I've seen to shame right there.

Darrel makes some cool blades. One day maybe.

Is there any other dealers out there that might carry these?
Besides:
TNK
Arizona Custom
Knife Art

Also, can the trigger maze be converted to non AO?
