Darrel Ralph is going to refund your money, plus shipping, plus $100 and your still complaining? Get on Roger to send it back, so you can get a prompt refund. IMO, Darrel Ralph's only mistake was it taking 9 months to figure out that you would never be happy with any repair or replacement, but he he generously paying interest+ for that mistake.

1. I bought the knife by a german dealer who order from DR
2. I got the price I paid back 672 Euro as german law talk
3. I no make some interest
4. Sure I would be happy with any repair...I like this knife and cash I have enough

I have 14 of Darrel's custom knives and they're all of the highest quality. I did have to send in one of the first production Meyerco 18-XRAY knives in for some adjustments, but it was all handled very professionally and in a timely manner. I have nothing but praise for Darrel's work.

Thanks to everyone for there good words.
Tafari. We are as unhappy as you are about this situation. We know that you are a valuable customer and this situation has hurt Piter, and DDR.
This knife had many small issues to deal with that ended up in a big mess.
We will never be able to fix this problem but still we are offering the olive branch to you in the best manner that we can.
We understand your frustration. We wish we could fix it. We know that it cannot happen.

Sincerely
Darrel Ralph

Thx fi the ending words.....if I talk 2 rude SORRY..... let there be peace!!!

I go way back with DDR and I have learned (by eating some crow) that Darrel is a top shelf maker, is honest and works his hardest to turn out the very finest products. I have not had the money needed to buy a DDR custom but his Production knives are amazing and Darrrel takes this stuff so very personally that he almost always answers these type threads quickly.

DDR truly is a good guy

The last thing I want to do is extend time that this thread spends at the top of the board... but... I just had to agree with most others that Darrel is a good man and a worthy leader in the knife industry. He certainly treated me right last year when I sent in my custom EDC for a lock adjustment. Top notch CS in my book. I wish the "Bad" in the title of this thread could be removed.

Just to clarify some things

1. I am Peter, admin of the german knifeforum (messerforum.net) and it was me, who ordered the knife from Darrel and sold it to my customer. Was not the first maxx btw, so i know exactly what I'm talking about.
2. I asked Darrel, to find a solution. Otherwise, i would bring the situation before the public. Darrel found a solution - he promised to send my money back plus 100USD for shipping fees and my efforts. Because of that i will not discuss about that case in public by no means. Business ethics. And, Darrel, with all respect, i would suggest you: deal with this bad situation the same way.
3. If you think, you have to defend your good name - Darrel, you are not alone. Same here.
4. Roger helps me in the US to check the knife and to avoid more costs and time, for shipping overseas again. Thanks for that!
5. About the "stupid lock" - to avoid additional fees for customs/taxes, most items, which are send overseas and back, have to be sealed. Thats a usual procedure. If that has been a problem any time, it's always a good idea, to inform the customer. I had no clue about that.

Peter

Peter,
We try to NEVER discuss business in public. We thought we did the right thing but the customer here feels bad enough to post this in a forum. We have to handle it the best we can and be professional.

I am closing this thread. If any of the principles need to post again, I will open it for them to do so. But we just got someone piggy-backing on this unnecessarily, so I moved that to its own thread and closed this off.
