My para 3 lightweight is waiting to be repaired so I’ll post that later.

Also just ordered a small senenza 31 big oak Damascus that I’m waiting for delivery on.

That’s pretty much it then. It is an addictive hobby for sure.

I started a spreadsheet back in '17 and every knife I bought is cataloged. I'm not entirely sure why I did it, maybe to put a reminder to not go crazy with knife buying but that is arguable. I listed the full MSRP as well as what I actually paid, and kept a total. Amazing just how much money one can spend in these things.

All the more power to the guys who spend in the 10's of thousands, but I respectfully and humbly bow out. As a retired person, I really can't justify spending and acquiring more knives that I probably will never carry let alone use.

I have two price columns too in a similar way. Just didn't show here. The collection builds over time its not like I plopped down $11,000+ all at once. There are plenty of more expensive things to collect. I don't begrudge anyone for having such a hobby. Unless I destroy these I imagine they'll hold a fair value should I ever tire of them and sell some.

Adding the ugly but uniquely intriguing spyderco stovepipe. Found one in stock. I still reserve the right to poke fun at it though.

Since I have never been able to wrap my head around how to make a spreadsheet work for me: I am totally envious of you!
GREAT job!!

I did the same sort of thing with my collection but it's all online. There are also fields that only I can see that show costs and who or where the knife came from.

Oh, I really like this!!! Going to give it a try w/my 350+ knife collection. Would be great for insurance/theft purposes.

For music, I use Discogs.com which also is online and offers a huge reference database of CDs/LPs. I've got all 1800 of my LPs and Mosaic Records sets (both CD & LP) listed but haven't gotten around to listing my CD collection yet. The CDs aren't worth as much as the LPs and I just got lazy.

My knife collection is worth about the same as my LP collection. So, I need to get busy. ;)

I work in systems engineering and write software for a living, and have built myself a database for this (Postgres and some python, for those who care). It is all command-line interface because I've been the only user. But if folks are interested in this sort of thing, maybe I should bolt a web interface on.

Cool but mine has colors 😂, No seriously that sounds pretty cool. I can barely program a universal remote so…

The spread sheet is probably a better option than what I went with. I just listed them on a computer document with details, grouped by brand and within brand by type (folder or fixed), and in order of price. It gives me all the details at hand I might want, including the knife designer.

Benchmade Adamas BM275FE-2 (US) OD Green G10 (Vaylox)/ CPM-CruWear (63-65 RC) Tactical Folder 3.78"/0.14" Earth Finish Plain Edge Flat Grind Drop Point 6.45oz (182.85g) Thumb Stud Opener AXIS lock mechanism Bar Lock/Reversible Tip-Up Deep Pocket Clip, tan nylon pouch Shane Sibert (316.99Cdn)

Nice going!
I would add handle color and blade color for when you start collecting multiples.
Also a notation on condition & whether it has been used or mint.

Beautiful spreadsheet, I hope it will benefit you.

I gave up spreadsheets long ago, it served me no purpose.
it just makes it convenient to compare specs on my knives which is what motivated me to do it in the first place. blade length, weight, blade steel, etc. I don't know, just easier than having to look it up all the time. Helped me fill in perceived gaps in my collection for sure.
