Death Chat!!

I like them for loose backpack strap ends. I just coil up the strap and slide the ranger band on to keep it that way.

Wow, sweet! Will give it a more thorough look tomorrow when I've got a free moment. That crowning Waki...beauty incarnate!

Yeah, I bought a sleeping bag this past weekend, going to take the receipt back to get the price adjusted :)

Any specific ones you're looking to try on, Jeremy?

Maybe "before" pics would help people understand what you do. Looks great already.

Im going to be trying on a bunch but they probably carry alot less in store then they do on their website.

Yeah I need to remember to take before pics. I know I have some.

Jeremy,

The selection isnt that great in store. But they should have something you like. Redwood Trading Post in Redwood City near me has some Lowas like the Renegade in stock that you could at least try on then order from REI.

I would like to see during pics.

Good idea, I should see if any place around here has a good selection of hiking shoes.

I agree with Nate; they definitely don't. A lot of the time, when I pick out something specific I want to check out, I use the site to check the availability in the stores nearest me before actually going to the store. Saves a lot of time and disappointment. For example, often times, an item may not be available at the Mountain View location, but may be available at say, the San Carlos location.

I'm in the market for some new flashlights. A lot of the models I like use CR123, but I'm trying to stick to AA and AAA batteries since they're commonly available. So many choices and so little money...

That looks like a very nice light for the money! I had one similar to it with a pocket clip. Can remember the name of the manufacture. The clip came off and I never used it again. Probably sitting in one of my storage boxes somewhere now.

What I want is a small AA light with a sturdy pocket clip. That is something I would EDC in my work pants.

My ideal EDC would be a powerful but small AAA light with a sturdy pocket clip and tail switch. That is something I would EDC. Most of the AAA ones I have found are twisties with no pocket clip. The closest one I saw was the maratac from countycomm with a tail switch. But that one doesn't have a pocket clip. In the meantime a small photon on my keychain will have to do.

It might not be a bad idea to start a seperate flashlight thread because we all have and like flashlights.

I was thinking of starting a separate thread, but didn't want to clutter your forum up. But since you suggested it, I'll go ahead and do so. ;)

I was just in there yesterday. I love going in there just to kill time. I usually walk out with something I never realized I needed until then. :P
