Death Chat!!

I like your stuff alot Ban. Personally I think widening and lengthening the handle a bit will make for a more secure grip on a really hard reverse grip jab. I don't have large hands and there was some space between the scales and the top part of my palm that I couldn't quite take up, especially with the flat handle stock. I think this modification will solve that problem nicely.

Well done!

Thanks for your feedback. I am a huge fan of your work and would like to get in some hands on training with you in the near future. Will you be hosting any courses in the Bay Area any time soon?

Very cool to see you here SouthNarc. If you do have any courses in the Bay area, I'd be joining Ban  Awesome to see Ban getting feedback by an experienced/expert user.

I'm teaching in Sacramento 30 Sept-2 October. I'm doing a 0-5' ECQ pistol course but if you want to try and link up while I'm relatively close then I'd certainly be up to meet and talk design stuff.

Sounds good. Not sure if I will be able to make the course yet but I will be in contact with you before then.

My Mil-Tac TDP-1 (gray) pen is being being shipped. I already have different EDC pen, but for some reason I'm super excited about this one. :D

On sale from Mil-Tac store right now too: http://store.mil-tac.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=38

Looks nice. Doable price too. I like my Zebra F-701  But I like that these are capped and not retractable.

I was previously using a similarly designed pen, however the tip was pointer and it was a little bigger (OAL) and it looked a little too aggressive for traveling.

This one is a little more blunt and looks like a higher end gentlemen's pen, so it shouldn't raise any eyebrows. I've been hearing great things about the Zebra F-701 and it looks good too, I'll most likely be picking one of those up too.

Those tdp1s are just about perfect for me. Paid full price for one when they first came out. I am tempted to pick up another one, but I already have a few backups.

I'm tempted to pick one up. The nice thing about the Zebra's is that they're cheap and replaceable, while likely offering the same functionality in either role.

I just picked up a Embassy pen; I hope it is as good as people say it is. My CRKT tactical pen is a bit big, and my bright shiny blue S&W one is too pointy at one end to lend to people. They always try and write with the wrong end.

Yeah those S&W are good pens for the money. I carry one daily for the past yr or so because they are cheap and easily replaced. I already lost one but at least I won't cry over it like I would if I were to lose my surefire pen. Only downside to the S&W pen is that it is too pointy and aggressive looking.

Mil-Tac TDP-1 came in yesterday.

And this is my new EDC combo. I really like the satin finish and the plain stainless pocket clip. Writes great too.

Looks like my day is gonna be shot. Went out to dinner in the City last night when the radiator of my GFs car blew out. Luckily we were already in the parking garage when it happened. Gonna have to drive 1hr back up there and have a tow truck bring it into a local shop to get it fixed. I am hoping that it is just a radiator hose that popped and that it can be fixed quickly.

That sucks, Ban :thumbdn: Hope you didn't get stuck in any traffic.

Huy, congrats on the pen...now I want one :D

I'm going to plan a hike for all of us next month, just a heads up! :) I'm out of shape, have been so busy lately, I haven't really been hiking regularly. We'll figure out the dates when we get into August.

Spent the day in the city having the car towed to a local shop and getting it fixed. The radiator blew out and needed to be replaced. We were looking at 7 bills for parts and labor. Mechanic told us that he would try to get it done before 6pm so we decided to hang out at the Embarcadero. Got a call around 4:30pm and found out that another part also needs replacing. Unfortunately, he doesn't have the part and needs to have it ordered. The earliest he can get the part is monday :(. Drove back home and barely made it to class in the mad traffic. Now we are looking at 8 bills and nearly 2 days time. Not happy about all this but we just have to make the best of it ;) I think I have had enough of the city for a while.

That's a crappy deal. Car woes really do suck.

Would have left work early and met up with you guys in the city if I'd discovered you were around earlier. At least the weather was nice while you guys were waiting.

Ban, that sucks!

Just got back from San Francisco myself, was up there fishing for crabs at the pier by the giants stadium. We heard some guy screaming at the next pier, roughly 200 yards away. We didn't think anything of it at first but a few of us decided to go check it out incase. As were walking, firefighters shows up and pulled some drunk out the water. He was alive but didn't remember how he fell into the water.

Jeez, you night owl :p Shouldn't be talking myself, haven't gone to bed yet...

Good thing someone heard that guy. Could have been bad times for him....
