Deep Carry Clips Suck

Don't know why so many here lust over deep carry clips, just makes it harder to draw the knife. Seems like a marketing gimmick to paranoid knife knuts.
Why do you think they suck? You didn’t give any explanation, just complained that other people like them. In some areas, you need them to keep from “open carrying” a knife.

simple6 simple6 do you maybe have horse hooves for hands?

Just kidding. Honestly though if deepcarry clips make it harder to draw a knife than I haven’t noticed. I don’t draw a non deep carry knife by pinching the tiny exposed butt anyway. Rather I just run my thumb into my pocket and pinch the body of the knife with my thumb while my fingers impinge on some part of the clip and draw the knife no issue.

...I'm sure the folks who like them have every reason they need. I used to wonder why people carried slipjoints or traditionals in general, then I remembered the "different strokes..." adage
What you talking about willis?! Sry had to.
I like them in certain folders. Like the ones I carry outside of work say to a store of the playground with my kid. Yes the draw and orientation can be slower. If i need a fast draw knife for some reason I go for my fixed blade.

I like a deep carry clip on most knives. When wearing dark colored pants this all but disappears. Sometimes thats a good thing.

All depends on the knife. Some knives deserve a deep carry, others are hindered by it. One reason I love Benchmade’s clip system. You can fit whichever style you wish on most of their models.

Overall, I tend to prefer the retention a standard clip offers. Most deep carries are a bit too loose for the likes of me. A stiff deep carry is fantastic, though.

I don't like them either but other people have their own reasons for liking them. For that reason I haven't actually owned very many of them. I know that some people like them because they don't want very much of their knife exposed. I like to grab the exposed part of the knife to draw it so a good amount of knife sticking out of the pocket doesn't bother me. I've tried the trick of putting the tip of my first finger on the end of the clip and pulling up- this works up to a point but I have to position my finger very carefully and move relatively slowly to keep my finger from slipping off. Anything that reduces my efficiency of using my one-handed knife as a one-handed knife is not good. But if other people like them, they can buy them all they want. I'm fine with it as long as they don't put the clips on the wrong end of the knife. (no, just kidding).

Being a “paranoid knife knut”
May need to try a deep carry clip
