You have excellent taste in gear Garth, I have the exact same crossbow, hence my forum name. I also have the same shotgun combo and use the sst's.

Unfortunately I don't have the optimizer on my bow and I think it cost me a nice 10 point this year. I used the wrong reticle on my multi reticle scope and just skinned the top of the back. You can bet I will it and a single reticle scope next year.

The optimizer seemed a bit pricey to me at first but now that I have it I can honestly say it is worth every dollar. I would highly recommend it.

T,
That is an impressive pile. I think you need to get back in the woods if you are gonna get enough deer to use all of those. Even if you just do one deer per knife you have a lot of hunting do.

Not bad. I only got mugged once this year while taking a stroll in the woods behind my house. They knocked me down, hoofed me up and took my wallet and a Game Warden off me... :grumpy: Philly deer are rough, man... They'll mess you up if up if you ain't wearing colors!

Son's deer. 10pt he got early on opening day. Really warm & windy that day, so we had even debated on whether it was worth going out.

My deer. 9pt I got Fri after Thanksgiving. I was about 15min from giving up for the day.

Definitely don't compare in size to Ohio deer, but pretty good ones for eastern Okla.

KWR

Congrats to the both of you. Two fine looking deer.

Hope to see you soon my friend,
Garth

Sadly, I missed the modern rifle season here. I have not been deer or elk hunting since 1995!

I was thinking about going this year, but my aniversary plans were on opening weekend.

Better late than never I guess, I got a good sized doe, dressed out with the AD. Probably 11-12 deer on that knife so far, 3rd year for it. Not worth taking pictures.

Got another deer yesterday. I was really blessed to get this one. I sighted in my gun with one of the laser bore things because I didn't have time to go to the range and turns out it was shooting a foot to the left. I aimed right at the shoulder and hit the deer in the neck. It fell over and broke its leg and I had to use my M9 to put it down. It was a pretty quick death but not as clean as I would have liked.:(

I used my M9 to field dress it. Probably not the most practical thing but I forgot to bring another blade. It worked pretty well and split the rib cage like it was nothing.

Very thankful for a freezer full of meat for the winter.

I got a doe on our last day of the season. used my mud puppy to dress her out and it worked great. the mudder handles are great in the cold wet bloddy snow!!!!

Some nice bucks Gents, congrats.

I missed the MN season and only made it out for four days of the WI season. Saw five deer there. Two forkies, two does and one little fawn. Never fired a shot. :(

Maybe next year.

Garth,

Here's the front door to my tree stand. You're welcome anytime. By the way, I sleep in it just about every night of the year. :D
