It's actually a curved Blade; it follows the handle nicely It lost a couple thousandths of an inch where it's dark/corroded - that's all!Thank you, Short Beak is the name I couldn't think of. It looks like a long coping blade to me.
I wonder if the curve in the blade is original , or the result of use and sharpening?
"Coping with Age"
"Ancient Bend"
"Real Something Knife"

I forget how long I spent trying to find a name for the Short Beak blade on Charlie's Ancient Barlows. Why does he post this interesting stuff when I'm just about to go to bed?!![]()
Here are some Ettricks by the same company!! Different pattern!!The shape of the handle almost screams Ettrick and while the Ettrick is said to have been designed by the Earl of Wharncliffe ... that is definitely not the blade often seen associated with the Earl or found on most Ettrick knives I've seen.
Is "OLD DIP SHIP" a little closer??Something to replace "Young's Sheep Dip", eh?
How about the way I often feel by the time Friday night rolls around?
I feel like an OLD DIP SHEEP. (Maybe I mis-spelled that.)
