This is not to scale, but...

Here's another one (again, not to scale...)

Love this! Great entries all around.

Here's one from me. Will see if I can get to another.

I've never done a knife design before but had a lot of fun this weekend sketching up a few ideas and then tracing and editing them in Photoshop. I narrowed it down to these three entries. From top to bottom I'll try and give a quick rundown.

1. Clip point skinner (mini bowie?) blade with brass guard and exotic wood scales. Just thought it would be neat to see something like this on a smaller scale (7.5").

2. A mini kukhri with a slight upswept blade. The curvature above and below the grip line would help with maintaining control and balance. I imagine it being front heavy.

3. Straight edge blade with a slight (10-15 degree) spine. Scales leave the steel partially exposed. It's something I've never seen before but I think it could be quite comfortable to hold and help aid the user in cutting.

Digging this design.

Phew, I thought mine were the wrong size but I realized the cutting edge and end of handle on the top overlap each other by .25".

Thanks! The idea was to have the swedge "swoop" a bit to give a nice secure thumb purchase for more controlled usage etc.

I'm thinking "hawk" as a name possibility. We get a visit in our yard every few days from a large red shoulder. Always see tons of them on trail and on the way to work. Maybe "barn owl", one of my favorite all time birds.

I have narrowed it down to three choices. Having a tough time making a decision. I will make a final decision ASAP, lol

One of the designs in this thread stuck with me and inspired me to make my own version of it. I hope that's okay with whoever designed it. I cut the profile out of a CS 1050 1/8" thick machete. This is my third knife that I've made. Right now its a work in progress. I'm currently slimming the profile and starting to add primary bevels. What do you think so far? PS, thank you to whomever designed this knife. It rocks and I really hope they win. I would love to have a professionally made version of this knife, as well as my own handmade one.

I knew that blade profile looked familiar. It was in my pocket. Benchmade contego folder

If anyone is interested, here's a glimpse of how my rendition should look when done, minus lacquer finish and polished blade

I know the date is passed but I think I will make a version of mine where highest point on the spine to lowest part at the belly is a little shorter. Rather than use the full 1.5" something around 1.25" or 1.2"
"

Ok a 1/8" less height, I realize these do not count just could not resist wanting to noodle them a little more.
