Design contest!

I'm a bit hesitant to enter, and had a quick question. Even if our design isn't picked as the winner you can still use any design entered as if it was your own?

I think only the winning design becomes "property" of WAS Knives. I do not believe that all submitted designs become "property" of WAS Knives.

I read it again ( this time outloud as it makes more sense when hearing it), and now think that it's possible that all designs can be claimed by WAS knives

*Legal mumbo jumbo: The designs entered will become property of WAS Knives and retains rights to use the designs.*

I thought of it as he can use any of them eventually as well. But it doesn't bother me all that much; if your design doesn't win and you don't feel comfortable with it being on the forum then just remove it after the contest is over.

Although I can see people being really bothered by their design not winning and then having their design used later.

I realized that it's not too likely I'll ever get to make my own knife, although I'd like to someday! So hopefully Allen will incorporate many of these designs and make some of our ideas become a reality that we can hold in our hands someday. Sure hope he'll pick one of mine, but there are a lot of nice ideas out there, so it will be cool whoever wins! In the end if he makes some of the others we are all winners!

I apologize that this has become an issue. I will only reserve the rights to winning design. If your design is not chosen, feel free to remove it from the thread once the winner is announced.

I just want this to be a fun thread and enjoyable for all. All entries have been great and I am still deciding. I might follow an earlier post someone made and pick two. Anyone against the idea of picking two?

That was and is a great idea!

This contest is a great idea and I'm happy to be part of it just wanted to check prior to posting. Definitely not an issue for me, sorry to be the complainer. Here is my entry if you're still taking them, my idea of my perfect EDC fixed blade. Picking 2 sounds great to me.
Specs:
-3/16" stock
- 1" wide
-7 3/4" O.A.L.
-3 1/2" blade
- lined lanyard hole
- 5/16" tube pins
- rounded spine
- jimping along spine
- was thinking burlap micarta or black walnut scales (ironwood if you wanted it to be fancy)

I wanna see that shortmuk

Here are the first two, with Andy's in the middle for size comparison. I am keeping the top one for myself (matches my personal stingray) and the bottom one will be coming to a Fiddleback Friday soon, lol. Can't decide which profile I like better, might just have to put both in the line-up.

Ok, going with two designs, I have picked one, deciding on the second, stay tuned......

Oooh I like those! Both are nice, but I think the one on the bottom has the edge for me!

Hanging tight to see the winners . . .

I hear that! I was preferring the one on the bottom, but the more I look at them, I do really like the top one too. Maybe I'm changing my mind!

Ok folks, thank you so much for taking the time to enter the contest and sharing your designs. This has truly been enjoyable to watch unfold. Trying to choose has been a complete challenge in itself. All of the designs entered are great and deserve to be converted into a knife. Thank you once again for entering and supporting WAS Knives!

So, without further delay, the winners are.......

Elite-kg with the "Shark"

and Coop7 with unamed

There might be some slight modifications when they made, but pretty darn close. Congrats to both of you and everyone who participated!!! This is truly a great community and I am proud to be a part of it! If you have scale drawings of these, please email them to wasknives (at) gmail dot com.

Thank you everyone!!!!

I'm pretty stoked one of my entries was selected as a winner!!! Thank you for the contest and the opportunity to participate. I am really looking forward to seeing the simple image come to life!

Thank you again.
