Destruction test on the Battle Mistress

Since this thread has already wandered to Middle-Earth and back:

It took me 2 WEEKS to sort through the maze of web sites and acronyms to find out how to buy a Busse from the source. I think it's funny. Jerry almost has to hide his store, and stuff still gets hogged pronto.

A negative person can spin anything negatively, even the Virgin Mary! I like the challenge and love the knives.

I looked for the best and toughest production knives on the planet and I found them!!!

Busse Combat, the sharpest knife in the war

.... but most just shake our heads and continue to use our knives we like so well.

Like my $150 Basic 3 that had been ABUSED to no end before I got it and in all of about 10 minutes of work on sand paper it push cut paper!

It is my home utility knife. After I got it sharp I use it to cut up cardboard boxes every week for recycling. After a pile of boxes all it takes is a few passes on a strop and it shaves hair again.

I can think of no other knife that will do that.

That is what I find odd and funny....buying one is a chore in actually finding WHERE to buy one. :D A little patience and I figured out how to check the sales here and found the Busse store thingie.:thumbup:

The fact that Busse knives have been at the top of the hard use knife list since about 1995 says something all itself.
You gotta remember, Busse, had no MAGAZINE WRITER FAN BOYS giving him free great reviews for freebie knives like so many others did for other makers. Jerry's knives prooved themselves through real hard tests.

I remember the word to those who knew back in the mid through late 90's was that Busse knives where the stuff to get if you could find one.

There are more reviews of hard use on Busse INFI knives than any other hard use knife around, Period, just do a search. Just on BF alone there are tons of reviews and tests. And people were not kind to these knives. Do I care if someone destroys a busse, no, because it does not make a difference to me. I know the consistency of performance of Busse knives is what sold me and still does. Most other knives lack that consistency even some that you would think have a rep for toughness, right OldPhysics:D

Too true.

Nothing beats real experience and objective tests.
