Scottman... no, sorry, I've seen some leather lace-on with leather loops on some Cowboy action guns... why I mentioned it, tried an elastic loop on my house gun, but when I shot a competition match, it moved around unacceptably... my 870 has a larger receiver, so switched to the plastic side saddle... I use 3GunGear for my Benelli M1S90, but don't keep the loops loaded... you might try a plastic side saddle attached to the butt stock with industrial Velcro
You can find nylon ones that lace on also.
Even better, IMO, is the style that has velcro straps.

Good thread.. Nice work on the firearm..
I have a rossi matched pair ( a break down single shot with swapable barrels in .22 and .410) It's filled the pot a fiar amount in the last year, but I'm wishing I had gotten something with a littl emore juice than the .410 (although I dig the round) Looks like that set up you got there is spot on.
Yeah, me too. Shoulda got a 22/20.
Of course, I claim it belongs to my 10 yoa son so I guess I can buy another without having to explain much to mama.
Scott, have you shot your 22 adapter yet? How accurate?
last spring i bought a h& r sinle shot 270 & put an inexpensive scope on it. not nearly as light as scottmans but handy in a jeep with no top. the idea since we have lots of hogs was to be handy & quick. worked on findind a factory load thru the summer since i only had limited time on my brothers ranch range. it shot pretty good but i like to get 1" groups at 100 meters. i believe if you have confidence in your gun it makes a more confident shooter. admittedly 2 in. groups are really all you need for 1 to 2 hundred yds. the h& r was a little cranky but sure liked the fed. ballistic tip. not nearly as light as scottmans but the single shot gun has tons of possibilities. 1st animal is hog in hunting & fishing. the monster only went 125 feet after the ballistic tip. these little shooters championed by scottman can be tossed in w/o worry about scratching the wood like you would on a weatherby or sako. i/m looking to get a 12 next.
