Diamond J Knives, What happened to them?

No knife/no money, but have since bought one knife at a show directly from the maker in person and another from a very trusted seller. If not from a known entity it's not happening.

Without knowing the full "true" story, I feel Dan and Marce experienced what is known as "Makers Meltdown".

If there was indeed an auto accident involved, that can seriously screw up your life, for quite some time.

I had some knives made up by them after I bought "Ginger", I had a "Mary Ann" and "Lovey" made. Even had the names engraved on the knives.

Then there was "Betty"....

After it became apparent that they weren't keeping up with orders, and not returning funds on obligations not being met, I divested myself of their knives.

It's a funny thing with me, if a maker is less than honorable and not forthright in their business dealings, I prefer not to have their wares in my possession.

It's a shame too, there is some real talent there. Some things are just not meant to be....

Bummer, I DID like the knives, spent quite a bit on them over the cost of the knives themselves and did quite the write up on them, which was subsequently deleted after the trouble went on for a bit.

Dan and Marce - I harbor no ill will towards you and wish you some future success down the road....

They're local to me and I spent more than a little time with them for a several months. They both came off as decent and generous people with good intentions. No idea what happened, although I have a theory (which I'll keep to myself), but whatever it was it must have been dramatic.

I did get my money back. Would love to know what the story was though.

I also had my money returned, I had one of the brothers reach out to me. At the time I had talked to him, he said that they owed 2 people money and he was trying to set things right with everyone. It's not my place to give details of what went wrong.

Still nada. I'll send out a friendly email and report back any resolution. I currently own 3 knives and hope that 2014 is a winning year for everyone. My own business started going down the tubes a few years ago and I'm still not squared away so the $300+ would come in handy. Just saying - no one has a monopoly on having major issues and I've been spending that time selling off anything that I don't really need to stay afloat.

No response to a friendly email. Shocking.
