Diamonds in the Rough!

But wait there's more! (Cue Billy Mays)

These 2 stag beauties have also found their way into my hands. Both are spectacular.

Wow Phil, non stop goodness. You have a pretty unique/rare Washington bolstered Schrade you posted not long ago as well. That's if my memory serves. Regardless, what a streak you have going:cool::thumbup:

Nice stag on the mark side, STELLAR on the pile! Good Lord, just gorgeous. Reasoning behind this can only be related to the difficulty inlaying the shield?

I agree! The pieces on the back are really gnarly and would be tough to get a good shield inlay.

Gorgeous new additions to your collection Phil!

Thanks Charlie for commenting on my DE stockman!

Lloyd

Well,Both Lloyd and Philllll - Im trying - Im honestly trying to find words to describe the feeling when I am looking at thes absolutely stunning examples of Cutlery- this is Top Shelf, the ultimate in knife collecting, ok.... a word that may sort of come close...... INSPIRING!!!

Love these knives Gentleman - thank you for sharing your treasures!!

Thanks Duncan for the kind remarks! I have a few very nice DE folders--got lucky. I am awe inspired by the two notable collectors Charlie and Phil and their stunning DE folders. Charlie's collection is world renowned as you know Duncan (some of his DE folders in this thread are rare and one of kind in some cases I am sure) and Phil has a knack or sixth sense in finding rare DE folders as we have seen from page 1 of this thread. They are my inspiration without which I probably would not have any!! Thanks again Duncan, Phil and Charlie--much appreciated, Lloyd

Thanks, John!
I forgot to mention it is 4" long - good size!

Sleek, well proportioned, elegant, lustrous, beautiful! And oh yes, the gorgeous peach seed handles--oh yeah that DE has the right stuff!! Congratulations on a very fine acquisition Charlie. Lloyd

Wow Charlie, that's just not fair!

Beautiful!

That is a great example right there, Charlie! Minty fresh!

Thank you for sharing with us :)

I came across a couple more old DE knives with very unique patterns!

This one is an unusually bulbous stockman pattern. Polar opposite of the stockman Charlie posted! I suspect this is is an Empire knife. The jigging definitely doesn't look like Schrade's. (I could be wrong here of course)

I love how it feels in hand. The sunken joints and extra wide handle make this knife feel exceptionally good in the hand. The looks are kind of love-it-or-hate-it... :D

The example I found is quite beat up and has been heavily restored, but the blades are still snappy and overall the knife is still very solid. Overall I am very happy to have found this one for my collection, regardless of the condition.

Here's a couple photos of one in much better condition that I lifted from a completed ebay auction. I've never seen this "CuTuP" etch before... very cool. The swedge and long pull placement on the main clip blade are very cool as well and I don't think I've ever seen another quite like it.
