Beautiful lines and great materials on the knife. But price point and tip-down only isn't going to do it for me.
Looks great... But as usual with most BM framelocks and linerlocks it's completely unfriendly to LH users. No LH clip option, not even a LH thumbstud. Always weird (and unfortunate) to see from a company that's so ambidextrous on the Axis designs.
Furthermore, this thread was started as a heads-up on a new knife, not for people to come in and poop on it rehashing bandwagon nonsense. It's like a sewing circle on BF anymore.
Spinster 1: Oh that's special but let's not forget the internet hearsay about the quality control, Ethel.
Spinster 2: You are so right Mabel, and let us not forget how they abandoned us faithful with their dreaded MAP enforcement! For shame!
Anyone else notice the Benchmade website lists the knife as tip-up only? Maybe a typo or maybe the knives will arrive with tip-up. Not like similar things haven't happened. We will know in a few days.
Looks like a nice upgrade from BM's old 750.... hopefully comes without the lock rock.
Unfortunately in my experience with the knife so far, there is a little up/down lock rock. How the monolock is designed, it has a little bit of titanium hanging over and prevents the frame lock from fully engaging. It is a little disappointing and I am not exactly sure what to do. I am noticing that the design/shape of the blade stop allows it to spin. I have used that to my advantage to make a it a little tighter, but the spine of the blade isn't fully engaged on the blade stop because of the angle I had to set it at. To be honest, I think that a round blade stop like on the 710, for example, would create a better locking interface. That's just my 2 cents. besides that, I really love the steel and blade shape! I would love to hear from Benchmade to see if they have any suggestions or comments on this.
Regards,
Steven
Im not getting that "lock rock" my lockup is very tight. My problem is detent or lack there of. Tore down the knife this morning. Realy thinking about drilling detent hole a hair stronger.
