Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

No pictures, just my experiences. I used the Fox pattada to shape a sheath I am making for the RR Grand Daddy. The leather is quite thick and folded on itself, so I had to cut through a douple thickness. I had just touched up the edge with steel. The cut I made was really even and straight. It was easy, the blade did not go through the whole leather with one cut but it was easy to finish second time.

I must say that I am surprised by the sharpness and quality of this blade. Not bad for a relatively inexpensive knife.

My trusty Castor helped out in the kitchen again yesterday...

And my GEC #66 helped make breakfast today.

I wonder if over on the "Kitchen Cutlery and Tools" subforum they post pics of using their Japanese chefs knives for whittling, cutting rope, or field dressing small game? :D

LOL! Do you know, I've never even looked at that forum! :D

Jack, I really like how you put your pics together.

Thanks Derrick, they take less time to post like that :)

Used my Garnet bone #23 LL to prep some baby back ribs for a slow braise...

I think I'm going to have to move this thread to the kitchen cutlery and tools forum.

Just joking. Sort of.

No pics, but I used my new to me pemberton to harvest some jalapeños this afternoon. Was doing stuff outside and saw some that needed brought in. Didn't have my garden knife on me so this one did the job.

Great pics guys, those are fantastic knives Barry and Kris

I used my Kutmaster stockman this morning to castrate the bear that killed my cat. (The knife was a gift from my late cat.)

It seems we are all a very healthy society around here in traditional forums... ;)

My Boy’s Knife helped me cut some pieces of scrap wood to pad a G-clamp as the first stage of tightening the pivots on an old knife (see http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1102181-A-morning-s-tinkering). I didn’t take any pics at the time, but I think this is a fair recreation :D

The Boy’s Knife also helped with some food prep ;)

the little Appalachian Trail lockback I've been carrying cut some rope so I could make some buoy lines since the lobsters have apparently moved out into deeper water, then stripped some wire so I could repair my running lights. I don't know what kind of steel the blade is made of but it takes a sharp toothy edge easily and holds it very well. It stripped the wire better than a razor blade. I would have used a dedicated wire stripper but the connections are in awkward places and tools on boats tend to rust up solid, like my stripper and crimper.

Just had to use my Rough Rider Canoe I got yesterday to make a improvised band aid with a paper towel and electric tape. It gave me said cut yesterday, and I reopened the wound earlier today and just a few minutes ago. It should be back to cutting up cardboard boxes and not me shortly.

^ Ouch Bob!

My Spearpoint Charlow quartered a few figs as I was walking round my local market looking for pointy bargains :)
