  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

My Sheepsfoot Charlow is proving a useful knife, and has helped me out a lot today. Last seen assisting me make a light snack to go with a beer ;)

Old pic but the soddie Jr will be performing a similar job in about 1 min.

Used my knife today to open a couple of these.

It also broke down a few boxes, cut plastic strapping, and opened some other packaging.

Cheating a bit here....the Eureka actually played the role of voyeur while the hippo bottle opener did all the heavy lifting on a bottle of Torpedo IPA.

So far this week I don't think I've needed to use my pocket knife for anything... :(

Edit: Well I did slice up an apple with my Case Slimline trapper, but that's my bag knife, not my pocket knife. Guess it counts for purposes of the thread. No pics to prove it though.

Been using this 'un...

To work on this 'un...

Try and do something about this...

If the Nowill was in better shape, it might be a candidate for new covers, but the springs are shot, and it operates more like a friction folder than a slipjoint.

Trimmed a few pages of notes out of an old notebook with this crazy thin spey blade. Then rewarded myself for the effort.

My Boy's Knife helped me make a sausage sandwich (with tomato and jalapeno relish) ;)

Very nice Kris

Al, what's happened, you've gone all NBC?! :D

I picked up this old box at a car-boot sale (like a garage sale I think) last week, and thought I'd use my Sheepsfoot Charlow to help me turn it into a Barlow Box. I intend to make a drop in tray for the Fat Ablett Barlows! :D

With the British summer over, I thought I'd make a hearty stew :)

There's a feller who has a stall in the local market selling old British tools. I don't buy too much off him, but he's a nice bloke and always up for a chat. I had a nice old shovel that I thought I'd give him for his stall, so as I was taking it into town I covered the blade with newspaper and tied it with string. I handed him the shovel, and he was about to ask me if I had a knife to cut the string! Well of course I did! I took out this old Carl Schlieper which Duncan gave me the other day and cut the string off for him :)

Both my Leatherman and me got a workout this afternoon, struggling to open the tin-opener blade on a WW1 pattern British Army clasp knife. I thought I was going to end up with a hernia!
