Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

My Charlow helped me fill up the new Zippo Paul Hilborn sent me :)

Nice to see that Part 2 of this thread has made it to page 50. Perhaps the knives involved deserve a 'lap of honour'! :D

In the meantime, I'm celebrating with a cup of tea and a digestive biscuit ;)

Well, the ice has hit us in west Tennessee, and since we're not used to this kinda stuff, everything is closed and there's not much to do but some home cooking. Figured it would be a great opportunity to put the new BF traditional to work.

I sat down and spent a while putting a nice edge on with the Arkansas stone. It didn't take long as the grind from GEC wasn't bad at all.

The ivory micarta covers contrasting with my white chopping board.

The Congress Jack has an extremely useful mainblade length, handling my taters just fine. :)

A job well done, and an easy one at that.

Got my patina started and looking forward to more quality time with this useful design. She's still nice and sharp.

Glad to have picked this one up. The secondary pen disappears in the handle and doesn't interfere one bit while using the sheepsfoot main. It's a very nice, tidy package. Great job by the BF team and GEC!

Looks good Finedges! What part of West TN are you in? I grew near Dyersburg. Hope the ice doesn't take out your power.

I used my Case CV medium stockman in Chestnut bone to cut the rope that tied a Nordmann fir to the roof of my wife's Subaru, then cut through all the netting wrapped around it. Merry Christmas!

Memphis area here. Dyersburg isn't far, but it sure gets hit harder with the cold weather!

Looks like we have our first patina pic for the new forum knife!

Thanks for the great pics Mike

My old Alfred Blackwell Lambsfoot helped me wrap birthday presents for my grandaughter :)

My Carl Schlieper helped me make a sausage and mushroom sandwich :)

I used the screwdriver on my Carl Schlieper scout knife to help me to take down a floor-to-ceiling speedball that doesn't see much use these days. Going to give it to a pal.

^^Some good stuff there Jack. It's nice to be able to get so much use out of these tools we love.

We didn't get much ice here in Kansas but it sure is cold! 2 degrees this morning!

There are a lot of fun things in Memphis. I miss the ribs at the Rendezvous. The Germantown Commissary is another favorite.

Thanks Mike. My knives rarely get the amount of use they did years ago, but I still enjoy using them when I can :)

My Carl Schlieper helped out again just now in the kitchen, really like this knife :)

We just had a lunch at church where we give gifts to children whose fathers are in prison. I used the sheepsfoot blade to open some of those boxes for the kids. Best thing I've used that knife for. :)
