Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

Not to change the subject from wildlife :) but I thought I'd throw in a shot of my chicken sausage with chipotle chili and pepper jack cheese inside, bell peppers, and asparagus.

^ Very nice sir

My Aitor Castor Pequena helped me make a light lunch ;)

My Queen Mountain Man slipjoint cut the knots out of about a half mile of rope so I could splice up the groundlines to my lobster trap trawls. I finally managed to get a decent edge on the D-2 blade and it held it nicely while cutting the 3/8 inch synthetic rope. It doesn't help a knife's edge when the rope has sat on a sandy bottom all winter and the grains get impregnated in the strands. I hadn't carried the knife for a while, preferring a serrated blade for this kind of work, but after coming back onto bladeforums and browsing the traditional forum, I sharpened it up and stuck it in my pocket again.

That's proper knife use Pete

Here, my Texas Jack helped me make Devilled Mushrooms on Toast for breakfast :)

And a snack for lunch ;)

my GEC helped make, along with some sand paper, these little fellas for my girls a couple of days ago:p

I finally put my Aitor Castor to work in the kitchen.

It helped prepare and serve up some spinach, courgette and feta pie.

Wow, great work Scruff, and great pics too

Hope the pie tasted as good as it looks :)

Thanks Jack.

I'm on piece two and it's twice the size! :)
Made the pastry with some traditional waterwheel, stoneground white flour.
It's nice and short.

A friend asked me to pick them up a P38 can-opener the next time I saw one. For some reason, they're always sold in pairs here. I've been using the same P38 since 1978, so I reckon I can get by with one. Maybe a P38 giveaway is on the horizon! :D

My Texas Jack helped me open the pack and split the two.

My Case Sodbuster sliced a couple of apples :)

My Bladeforums 2011 knife helped out with a very hastily arranged 5000 post celebration!

Wife at meetings tonight, so a quick and easy dish of penne, broccoli, smoked salmon, oilve oil, lemon, and garlic.

No pics of it at work, but my Case 63032 Chestnut Bone CV Medium Stockman got an unexpected workout today opening up several palletized cartons. Cutting packing tape and those heavy plastic straps they use to tie cartons down on pallets. And my Slimline Trapper cut up an apple for my lunch.

haha thanks. I will try to snap some photos today if the sun comes out. I feel like I have rope everywhere and am way behind in splicing it. There are boxes in the truck, on the boat, in the workshop, and on the wharf and in the yard. The Mountain Man got another workout yesterday making buoy lines for the couple hours of dry weather we got. Someone gave me this knife to test out and so I don't have to worry if the sand is going to smooth the bone out or the salt water is going to rust the blade. I just wipe it down, oil the joint when needed, and stick it back into my pocket.
