I haven't done that many deal's compared to alot of you but they have all been great.
I have a situation that I could use some of your suggestion's to make sure to me that I'm not overreacting to this.
I made a trade a couple of week's ago with forum member "Joebe" for a first production run BM 42 that I had. Knife was sent and 3 day's later i get an e-mail from him saying knife received it's great etc. then say's he will now send his knife out to me. Well as all other trade's I've done here knive's were sent same day as I thought was the standard procedure here unless other arrangement's were agreed on by the partie's envolved.
I was going out of town for a couple of week's and was planning to have the knife before leaving so the deal could be final. After e-mailing him this and not getting any response I got this gut feeling to pull out of the deal so I had him send me the 42 back.
I get back in town earlier than expected receive my knife, open the box and a note fall's out saying "oh by the way the knife had a screw loose that backed out and wouldn't go back in" . Upon examining the knife that latch screw was out about a 1/16 and you could see that a phillips screwdriver was used and the head of the screw was messed up.
I have had many BM Balisong's over the past 20+ year's and have used and abused them and NEVER had a problem. He got the knife removed the screw and latch then messed it up trying to put it back in. I e-mailed him my thought's on what he did and received no reply.
As far as I'm concerned he bought the knife when he messed it up and if there was a problem he should have let me know when he received it.
I have sent many e-mail's to him to see what he plan's to do to rectify this situation and I really didn't want to go air my problem here but he left me no other choice.
In his profile he state's he is a police/security officer and I am kind of shocked of this behavior from a person in this line of work.
Hopfully I am doing the right thing posting this but all I want him to do is the right thing.
