The point is he sold the knife he had got in trade from Blilious before he owned it -- Blilious hadn't received and approved the trade. I'm glad Blilious got his knife, and Joebe wasn't as dishonest as he might have been, but the kind of trading ethics Joebe showed in that and other transactions was quite sufficient to get him banned (not to mention the attitude he showed when called on it). I knew when I banned him that knife might still show up and decided it wouldn't change a thing if it did.
Now the knife has arrived that saves Joebe from prosecution over that deal, but it won't get him reinstated at Bladeforums. Deal with Joebe at your own risk.
Sometimes an honest member will start arranging a trade involving a knife he doesn't own yet, but he'll make it clear to whoever he's negotiating with that it's conditional, he doesn't have the knife yet -- and if anything goes wrong with any part of a complicated deal like that an honest member will make it right; he'll do whatever it takes to be fair to everyone he trades with even if it's an inconvenience to him. It's clear we can't trust Joebe to do that.
