Ding and paid, post your Flack Jack pictures when you get 'em

I thought that Snow Hole micarta looked really dark last night but they come pretty oiled up like all the satin has for me- so I wiped it down really good with paper towels. Brought it to work for show and tell and in daylight, man, it looks really cool- It's definitely different! and it got rave reviews today. Still the number one question I got was "when we going to see what a nuclear dagger is?" ... I tell em "it's always 2 weeks" as they get that glazed over look like- that's what you said 2 months ago ~ well DUH! Welcome to Busse world, one of those things you just have to be there to understand ;)

Sweet pictures! ~ My EMT guy at work was focused on the pommel. He said "that would make a nice glass break" I really like how he did that. Lots of subtle details to this one, pretty cool. I can see putting this on the belt as a normal routine just like putting on a watch.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, some of us are still waiting for our shipping dings....
and slowly...losing....our...MINDS!!!

Seriously, though, great pics, guys, and love the comments. I can't wait to fondle my own Flak Jack.

i think you're going to love it, really do. If I'm being honest, I have developed opinions and I'm not crazy over them all. I like them all for different reasons but I'm able to pick without hesitation my favs and not all of them turned out as I imagined they would. Like Dogboye said, it's not a lot different than already popular blades, just a little tricked out. This fills a gap for me, don't have anything that comes close to feeling like it.

It's going to be awesome :D:D:D ~ Like a guy asked me about the dagger "How can you wait so long?" ... I said, "how can I not?" :D ~ kind of got to be there to get it am I right? ;)

Here is a side-by-side-by-side of the Jackhammer, FJ Snowhole, and Batac.

The Batac is significantly heavier than the Jackhammer or FJSH (to be expected).

The Jackhammer and FJSH feel almost the same in weight, but the balance of the FJSH is just off the charts.

Bonus: The FJSH fits in my BuyBrown taco kydex sheath for the Jackhammer.

PA, I'll send you my address so you know where to send tha Jackhammer :D you can keep the sheath since it fits :p Damn that JH looks like new, it's obvious you don't like it or use it Send it home to papa!!! ` nice lineup pics! Yeah, not even in the same class at the Batac. I like hearing your opinions on the balance. That reaffirms my thoughts that I'm on the right track- it was so obvious for me and seeing Chad describe it, much better and by someone who's had em all gave me a good feeling like "I'm gettin it" ;)

Haha! This is my non-user Jackhammer (saving this one for kiddo too), my other Jackhammer takes a lickin'. I will say this, those Jackhammers are amazing.

In my opinion, the FJSH is maybe the most perfect knife in this size range that I have ever handled. The weight, balance, ergonomics, and the blade geometry are just... PERFECT.

Slicey, stabby, robust.

Right on man, I see you spent some time on the angles there, I dig it- I did that to my TGMA2, I swear I was on coarse stones for an hour but it was worth it, I actually perk up when I handle that one, it's the scariest thing I've done so far.

When I got my snowhole out of the box the slabs were black with very little color. But the texture felt nice. The handles were bigger than I imagined (I have smaller hands). I was at work so not much fondling.

I couldn't wait to get it home and compare it to my RatManDeux (one of my favorite blades). It's blade is shorter and handles larger and weighs a touch more. First thing I noticed was it felt lighter. It sits in your hand and wants to stay there. Very quick and nimble blade. As I turned it around the color and patterns showed in the micarta. It is really a blade that grew on me quickly. Gonna have to play around some more with it but wow Jerry nailed this one.

Love that Jack hammer :thumbsup::D

Can’t wait for my Flak jacks :-)

Not the best photos, but they give you an idea. I haven't seen competition finish in person, but from what I have seen, DC is definitely my favorite finish, aesthetically.
The second two photos are an attempt to capture the texture within the texture of the red/black G10. Very different from any scales I've had so far. At least from Busse. Survive Knives started doing a similar micro-texturing on their late-model GSO blade scales. I have to say, I really like it. Especially on the Busse blades.
There seems to be a similar microtexturing of the micarta scales on my BGFJ. I need to try to capture those scales as well. But this was all I had time to rush to do this morning.
A little odd coloration of the red G10 around the flared pin. Only on the one pin, and only on one side. It almost looks like something dropped on it and slightly delaminated the glass fibers. Still looks nice, though. It's just a beauty mark.
Sorry for the slight out-of-focusing of the images. I need to get a good light box. Or a better camera than the iPhone X.

Snow Hole arrived today!! UPS showed up while I was on the phone with my wife over lunch. She asked "Are you expecting something from UPS....?" I replied, "Ummm...possibly." As soon as she saw Busse Combat she stopped talking. Lol.

I was totally surprised by the delivery today. I called yesterday and was told it had not been shipped yet. nonetheless, work can't end soon enough. I'm stoked to see my first Custom Shop Busse :)

I took a few of the kids out to meet the Ash-hole stump today., Yes, the wife went shopping, not going to lie to you all about it :D:p And I had to cut out the Snow Hole handle before resizing. Got to see this sht in the sun man, it's looking better everyday. And I'm still digging my dye job on the TG, hard to believe it's the same stuff next to the green Flak Jack with green canvas. Pretty obvious what is going to happen there ;)

Well, you can't post using your phone or i pad with flickr. it has to be from a computer. odd..
Green canvas on green and maroon canvas on DC.. the sjtac in the middle is for comparison.. handles were skinnier, yet a bit wider in the middle height wise. I really like the maroon canvas.
