Hello everyone. I just want to warn everyone of a scammer on ebay that sell many Spyderco knives. Their name is SPYDIE GUYS. I ordered knives from them in the past as well as others, where the service was great and the communication is excellent so Ebay is still a great place to buy from great sellers other than Spydie Guys. My feedback is 100%(Andyasphalt).
I ordered a Spyderco Captain from them in October 2009 of last year for a gift. I mailed them and mailed them asking about the status of the item. A sales representative by the name Griselda would assure me to wait because it is on the way. The owner of the site his name is Jess aslo assured me it would be on the way. Me being the trusting man I am gave them the benefit of doubt, because it was during the busy holiday season. They would just reasure me it was on the way. I did not know that paypal had a 45 day period so after this your protection of being ripped off is gone and the buyer protection is gone. Spydie Guys all a sudden stopped all communication with me. As well ebay once a transaction goes beyond 2 months closes it and you cannot even email the seller about the particular item. But since then I have emailed them and they refuse to answer.
So I just noticed this thread on this great forum and I am hoping this may be a way to help me get some justice and help others not to get taken.
So I would just like to warn everyone of their business practices. This ebay item number was 260490179373.
I am hoping that they may somehow see this thread and come to their senses. I am just asking for what I paid for, or a refund and that is it. I will update everyone if the status of this changes...but otherwise my friends DO NOT BUY FROM SPYDIE GUYS on ebay!!!

Regards
Andrew

It sucks that because of their name, people think that they're the quintessential Spyderco retailer. Everyone on these forums and the Spyderco forum knows that they are scammers, but those not in our community but still like to collect knives will still buy from them.

I am amazed that they still have a ~100% rating; I don't know how that can be.

Sorry to hear that you were scammed by them.

I never bought anything from them because they never ever answered a single of my questions through eBay. I always ask eBay sellers a question just to see how good their communication is, Spydieguys failed every time.

Spydieguys are folks that have very mixed reviews on the Forums. You will find some buyers who will praise them and also many disgruntled Buyers who just don't like the way they do business.

I've never purchased from them for my own reasons but I know Members of others forums who won't patronize them for things just like you mentioned and others, such as;

- Reoccuring Slow Shipping, No communication or Poor Service. The Owner blames the help in all these situations.
- Preselling Items that are weeks out on Delivery
- Selling Knives with their Company name / Website etched on the Blade - when the pic in the Auction does not show that etch
- When Spyderco introduced one of their Forum knives (meant for Spyderco.com Forum Members) SpydieGuys snatched up multiples of this knife to resell quickly on Ebay. Sal saw this and implemented a Rule that limits future purchases of these special Forum knives to only ONE knife per Member.
- Spydieguys bought dozens of the Spyderco Bug knife when they were introduced at a Show show - he quickly listed them for $29 and hinted at Limited Availability when in reality they hit the streets a few weeks later with a MSRP of $8. Capitalism? Dishonest? You decide.

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Spydieguys kept running the Orange Military auctions over and over, as a limited 600 piece sprint run months after Spyderco said they wasn't. In fact when told they was not limited they answered, you aren't our customer what do you care?

You're kidding? Pics?

I'd love to make videos about them and post them as replies to theirs on youtube, but I haven't been personally wronged by them (nor will I ever, because I won't ever buy from them.)

It took me over 2 months and many emails to get the 2 purple ladybugs I ordered from them. Total waste. I feel if it wasn't for me emailing everyday they would have never completed my order.

No I don't have pictures of the auction listing they ran over and over with the Orange Military being listed as a "limited sprint run of 600".
But, I did tell them that it wasn't repeatedly and they only argued at first it was, then when I persisted that it was not they told me "I wasn't their customer and why should I care". They sold them one after the other as limited, months after Spyderco announced they was making all they wanted of them and not the 600 originally stated.

Thanks for the tip. Never bought from them, but I've seen plenty of listings.
Could it be a Canadian shipping/customs issue?

Jill, that's the same tactic that he used when the Orange handle Morans were released. His Auctions all stated "Limited Edition" short run, blah blah and in fact they were always a standard stock item.

I did buy a few Spyderco's from them early on in my acquiring days. Those were auctions on new stuff I won at decent prices. But, I never found anything at a buy it now price that was as good as other dealers, eBay or off eBay. And now that I've seen and heard all this about them, I will never buy another item from them.

I have bought a few from them in the past with out any trouble but I will never buy from them again after the little rant over the forum Native was posted on you tube.I have no problem with flipping a knife for profit(its the American way) but that rant was very unprofessional.
I try to stick with knivesflacowboy or poor_fish when buying on Ebay.

I have got MANY awesome deals from SPydieguys in the past on his open bidding auctions. Everytime I have bought from him, my item has arrived VERY fast and I also get automoatic emails telling me its gonna be on the way and that it is on its way once it finally leaves. I have bought 1,000s of things on ebay and I would NEVER hesitate to buy from him again.

To the 2nd poster, your WRONG about everyone here thinking they are a scammer. A scammer doesnt give me some of the best deals I have EVER had, and there are a lot of them.

Funny you say this, everytime I post some knives on ebay, I always get people who like to waste my time, asking questions that one would think once answered they would purchase the knife, NOPE, they waste me time. Arrrgh

I bought a couple knives from them.I never had any problems.I never needed to use their CS either though. One thing that ticked me off a little was that they plugged their site in my feedback. It's no big deal, just a little distasteful IMO.

I just checked their feedback on eBay and they do not have a 100% rating.
In fact in the past 12 months they have received 59 neutral and 72 negative.

I've had questions asked many times by eBay users interested in my knives and I've answered them 100%. Many times the ones asking won the item.
Just part of selling anyplace to answer all questions promptly from all interested parties.

I sent the owner an email with a link to this thread last night.
I doubt he'll show up to explain his self.
This guys a real piece of work!:barf:
